As a former baseball player, there's a very lonely feeling when you are making errors, striking out and just playing bad in general. You start to beat yourself up, your teammates start to get frustrated with you, and it's a vicious cycle. For me, it would typically be other players or coaches that would pick me up, when I was in a slump......but in the pro's, most players don't care and a lot of coaches see everyone as replaceable. So it's super cool to see the fans be there to pick him up. You have no idea how much he appreciates that. I guarantee you his play has been effecting him at home as well as on the field. He will never forget it.

Totally agree with you, but some kids don't want to even try. I actually watched a PE teacher encourage a girl to finish a timed run. She walked and barely jogged most of the way. The whole class was done. He kept encouraging her telling her how much time she had to left to pull it off. She would jog a bit after he cheered her on, then walk again. She got near the end and had 20-30 seconds to finish the last 10-20 yards. What did she do? She stopped. Got a drink from her bottle. Then moped across intentionally AFTER the time. He told her she got no points for the day as a result (she failed). Not trying to be negative as that wasn't your point, but many kids are like this these days. Times have changed.

@iarmycombo5659
@iarmycombo5659 Год назад
Its not positivity. Its difference between good and bad. Yes, that difference has to be positive for this effect to take place, but if the total is negative in the beginning it has a much greater effect than if it was already positive but still the positivity raises the same amounts. And it only works for limited time scales. And it depends how the person reacts. We can all see that a person can become frustrated if they are cheered too much for too long because it can start to feel fake or just become cold to it because it feels normal. This guy may have even the first time felt like it was fake but your body quickly tells you otherwise real quick even without thinking about it because the feelings of tens of thousands cheering for you can never feel too normal. It will feel special each time even if he thinks nothing of it particularly. This is what i call manipulating. Its maybe not the bad kind, but it still feels unfair to me, at the very least if it was done to me beause i want to be in control of my emotions and thooughts and performance and i want to know what i am like without anybodys "help". Its not that i dont appreciate the help, its that i want to see how much i can help myself without the help of others. I dont want to feel like for me to get my achievements i mightve needed somebodys help because then 1. I can never say to anyone just do what i did to achieve what i did if i cant even be sure nobody changed my mindset during achieving it and even if they did, HOW they did it and HOW to replicate it to maybe help my friend the same wat someone helped me and 2. I can never say while 100% truthful that "You can do it" because no matter how many people have done it, idk how much each of them got help from others compared to if this person gets any or wants any. Of course its a small factor most of the time but being more accurate never hurt someone gathering informaation which is what i wantto be doing as i find it possibly useful to someone.

braindead comment. committing 300 mil to a guy playing replacement level is why he was getting boos. we weren’t giving him standing o’s because he was playing poorly, it was because of an interview he had and castellanos had right before this series where it became clear trea was working his ass off and not phoning it in like many fans thought. if a player isn’t giving his all and refuses to be a team player, that’s when we let him hear it (Wentz, Simmons, Werth, etc.). surface level takes like this add nothing and are just lazy attempts to take shots at the city.
