It’s hilarious how one of the biggest and best game releases of 2024 (Stellar Blade) is a console exclusive that Sony repped and touted as a big PS5 exclusive title, yet Black Myth Wukong is supposedly a secret last minute “money-hat exclusive”. Xbox fanboys and “journalists” will do everything imaginable to paint PlayStation as the evil empire for the sake of saving face for Xbox fucking themselves over yet again.
Jez Corden has done nothing but run interference this gen. From the ABK deal, to xbox going multiplat to this Wukong situation, he has always tried to get ahead of the story and control the narrative in favour of Microsoft. A true corporate shill.
MS's statement makes more sense within context of a question bringing exclusivity deals up to begin with. First they answered what's going on with Wukong with a vague non-answer, then they answered the exclusivity part separately with "we can't comment on" as a way of saying "we have no idea what Sony's deals are". Windows Central is just a fanboy-driven outlet not being upfront with their inquiry/question.
So why Sony doesn't advertise this HUGE game to sell more console like always?? It doesn't make any sense. The narrative here is fucking crazy, because while they try to blame Sony for everything, no one talks about Microsoft embargos on multiplatform games trailers (just an exemple) or the actual problem with these delays.

I hope they do some kind of PS3 emulation. Streaming a game ( for me) on ANY platform is just not good enough! It doesn't work. I have tried streaming on all modern consoles AND PC, The game doesn't matter either, it is way too laggy and hitches like crazy. like watching a video that just stutters and freezes every few seconds. Also there is NO WAY they would allow you to put in ps3 dicks into a ps5 and let you play away. it would be more like Nintendo switch online where they have a selection for you.

We know for a fact that Kingdom Come. Deliverance is going to have the exact same size game world because of the limitations of the Xbox series s It's one of the things that I really wish at xbox would just get rid off.
At this point for me it doesn't matter if there is no PS3 emulation, simply remastering the PS3 exclusives that aren't available anywhere else would be enough for me. Killzone trilogy, Resistence trilogy, Infamous dualogy etc. Especially if that leads to a PC version of the games.
ICO must be animated not life action i don't think it would work in that format, same with Shadow of Colossus and the Last Guardian if they ever get made.
I think Shadow and TLG could work live action - I mean "live-action" the same way the Lion King remake was. Obviously they are going to highly reliant on CG, but I think they could really pull it off if done right. I agree that Ico would be better as an animated feature.

Stellar blade I always thought it flopped im a platinum achiever and on psnprofiles it has barely any players compared to other PlayStation exclusives. I guess people who don't care about trophies really like this game

Your position on sports games inclusion is asinine. The reasoning you provided can be applied to every game. For me, it’s multiplayer games that I hate seeing included. But the point of games being on PS+ is to get people to try games they may not have otherwise.
@MrMpa31 I wouldn't call it asinine. I'm sure Mystic Ryan also agrees with you on multiplayer games, he's very open about not being into multiplayer games either. I also hate multiplayer games and sports games being added to essential (extra is fine because you aren't really losing out if you aren't interested). If anything, his reasoning could be extended to multiplayer games too. Your point is valid though, one of the main uses for subscriptions is to try out games you aren't willing to drop cash on. However the main caveat with sports games in particular is that people who are interested in them probably have them already, and the number of people who are going to try out a sports game is miniscule to none. I can only speak for myself with this in particular, but I'm sure many share the sentiment. I'm not into multiplayer games, and often feel like I have a game less when they drop on essential, however there has been the rare occurrence where I dable in a multiplayer game because my friends wanted to try it out, on the sports side there hasn't been a single instance of that so I 100% have a game short when a sports game drops on essential. I am not going to try a sports game because I know with 100% certainty I will not enjoy myself. Drop the sports games on Extra, or give us a non-sports game. The same could be said for multiplayer games 100%, in that we are in agreement.

I am thinking about buying a new 32inch Bush TV soon. Is this a good model of TV to buy for PS5 gaming. My current TV is quite old now, and I fear it's going to just conk out and stop working at some point.
I mean at that price point but if you have a Sony full HD TV or something similar to then there's no point better yet if I were you I would get an older Sony bravia lcd they are very good and cheap. But if you want a smart tv then maybe it's worth it newer TVs broke all the time though they are not very reliable like the old ones something to consider hope this helps.
Yeah as you very briefly mentioned most speculation i've seen for Wukong not being on Xbox at launch is due to issues with the Series S optimisation. Similar to why Baldur's Gate 3 took ages to come to Xbox, because of this “feature parity” clause between both the Series X/S versions

I think the developers of Black Myth Wukong have been pretty clear that they're still optimising the game for Xbox and that it won't be ready for launch, but will launch once it's ready. This has nothing to do with exclusivity agreements, and the Microsoft representative didn't say anything to imply that there was such an agreement, he's just saying that he can't comment on any agreements that might exist between Sony and them (as he wouldn't have knowledge of it). If the game was a Playstation exclusive, they would have simply said so. Most likely the Series S causing delays again.
Yea, you can't "minimize" an exclusivity arrangement after its been made, nor announce the release date on your own terms based off development progress.
Just saying - the Wukong statement from Microsoft ISN'T saying there's an exclusivity agreement... it's just saying they can't comment on any agreements that they may have. I think it's likely an example of MS letting people's imagination and Sony-hate doing most of the heavy lifting. Of course it may well end up that way, but I think MS would rather that narrative out there, rather than yet another Series S problem.

Because Microsoft knows it's not a Series S Problem. This man brought up Larian and BG3 but they were specific on what issues they were encountering with the Series S. Specifically the split-screen component which does not exist in Wukong. Game Science spoke in no specifics, they just a general PR statement that practically says Sony Paid us because they have no exclusive games shipping this year but that trash Concord and interesting looking Ninja Gaiden Dark Souls game.

Black Myth: Wukong is one of the most anticipated games of the year. There would be advertisements everywhere about how it's a "console exclusive" for PlayStation if there was an agreement. There wasn't even a trailer in the last State of Play. It's just another Baldur's Gate 3 situation with Xbox (Series S specifically, and that's why Xbox is going next gen in 2026, earlier than expected).
This sounds right. Sony would be talking up their exclusivity if that was a thing. And nobody really talks about how much series S is a problem 4 years in to this generation.

Yeah, exactly. Exclusives (even timed exclusives) exist to drive console sales. That's always how it's been. No company hands a developer tens of millions of dollars for a game then doesn't heavily advertise it as "Only on ____"
I don't think PlayStation paid for timed exclusivity and feel Xbox is just doing damage control. We're used to Xbox or should be by now how they do business and their tactics.

Black Myth Wukong is running into the same troubles that Baldur’s Gate 3 is, as Spender, in all his infinite wisdom, caused with his Series S strategy and parity clause. Anyone who says Sony is paying for random timed exclusives like with this and other random ports that skip Xbox (Marvel vs. Capcom Arcade Fighting Collection) doesn’t know what they’re talking about. The Series S parity clause, low Xbox install base, poor software sales on the platform, lack of a global presence outside of the US, years long brand damage (due to multiple reasons, one being not having a first party exclusive nominated for GotY since President Bush left office) are all much more likely contributions to why many games from different developers are skipping Xbox, rather than evil Sony/Nintendo paying for exclusivity, all while said claim lacks any evidence. This game among many others will just be the start of Sony and Nintendo amassing a large collection of timed/permanent third party exclusives, while former third party exclusives on Xbox will vanish. I wouldn’t be surprised if more big games like Monster Hunter Wilds is going to get delayed on Xbox as well.

Starfield, a game that pushes the 4090 4K maxed, runs on the Series S along with some of the most demandning games out there like RDR2, Cyberpunk etc all run on the Series S. Games that are far more demanding than Larians BG3. Larian was very specific on what issues there were encountering specfically the split-screen component on the seriens S. @@byte-bg4ob i’ll put a ps3 disc in my ps5 later and tell you what it says, i’m guessing it’ll say unsupported format or wtv, bc i think ps5 discs are ultra hd blu ray, and ps3 is just normal blu ray but idk if it makes a difference
@@ubulayne_ PS4 discs are blu-rays so it should work in theory to read the disc. The main problem is that it can't read CD's (goodbye PS1) and it can read DVD's (PS2) but you can't pop the disc in to claim those games like Xbox does. More likely than not, it'll read the disc and just not do anything since Sony's strategy is to pay for the game again.
Sony and there studios should really take a harder look at there old unused IP on the classics catalog. The classics catalog has so many games that are perfect for a reboot remake. For example, Syphon Filter, legend of dragoon, Wild arms, DARK CLOUD and the Mark Of Kri would all be perfect games for a remake or sequel.
The Xbox Series S is their best selling current gen console though. The best way to abandon it is to just launch a new product. Their next gen box needs to launch in 2026.

I don’t really care since I can just play hundreds of other games with much better graphics on my series x, if the game gets praise from others, I could buy it, after it gets released on my preferred console. Most likely the game will be bad anyways, almost no Chinese video game released in history have been good and I don’t think this one game will magically change that.
Surely the key word in their statement is "partners". They can't comment on their partners, meaning xbox partners, and how they do deals with other platforms like Sony. Going by that this statement or at least that second part of it has nothing to do with Game Science or Black Myth. But be cause the sentence is after their first part of the statement people assume they're still talking about Black Myth. Either I'm missing something or most people who have been riled up by this statement have poor reading comprehension... EDIT: On a side note, this could have been done intentionally to confuse readers and steer the narritave away from "xbox series s bad". I really hope they don't completely give up on twisted metal. I have fond memories of playing twisted metal throughout my earlier gaming years, and the industry desperately needs more multiplayer vehicle combat games, ideally with couch co-op like the good ole days

Wukong skipping xbox at launch is because they wont get series s/x optimization ready in time. Why noone understands how much planning have to be done before releasing a game. They sceduled the release for august. In such projects one day you need to earn money. And if they dont have enough time to optimize for every plattform intime they have to prioritize the biggest plattforms. Which are pc and ps. Thats all of the story.
Imagine if Sony made a console that can play every game that came out on every console (except PS Vita). It would be awesome to have ps2 games, psp games and ps5 games on one console.

I believe the rpcs3 has a license that may be problematic for entities like Sony. It is GPL2, which requires making the source available for integration. In other words: if Sony inserts uses and modifies the code, they must re-release it under this open license. As they maintain IP related to PS3 hardware, it would effectively force them to make the integrated bits open source. If it were under a more liberal open licenses (eg. MIT, BSD, etc), they would plausibly build off of it.
For PS3 emulation I hope they're able to have it natively on PS6 alongside a growing selection of recertified titles for people who missed out. They already did this exact approach with PS1/PS2 titles on PS3 so I don't see why they wouldn't do it again just because their competitors don't. Nintendo never did backwards compatibility to begin with and Sony did as a way to separate themselves, eventually influencing Nintendo to do the same whenever they can. They can either have additional PS3/PS2 hardware in an optional PS6 model (like original PS3 models), or use an emulator like the PS3 slim's PS1 emulator. They can both monetize games and serve fans.
The series s is the reason why 3rd party games take forever to release underpowered low memory low ram the problem here but Xbots don’t want to believe that they rather believe what Xbox/Xbots say smh
I don't see why anyone would pitch an Ico movie/series unless they had a genuinely artistic vision, there are plenty of better-known properties if someone wanted to make a more generic Netflix-style adaptation. I would love to see Guillermo Del Toro make an Ico movie haha.

I feel there’s a chance that if ps3 emulation does happen, Sony could make ps3 emulation exclusive to PS5 pro if they have no other good selling points. I don’t think they would but still there’s a chance.
The only thing that gave me hope about the PS3 emulator on PS5 being good is a thing that Mark Cerny said: THe Tempest Engine is like the PS3's SPE. So if the Tempest Engine is able to act like an SPE and can run the SPE's code, then it should be very possible. And that's the thing that SONY can do that others can not: Hardware Assisted Emulation, where they put in a custom Blob that can help with emulation in that case...
