America has 33000 museums and you go on about the British museums and it only has 2500 and that's between 4 countries 🤔🤔 even Canada 7500 or South America is same 7500.even Germany and France have over 7000 each 🤔🤔 to me its got more chance of ending in one of these museums??🤔 quite interesting all the countries or even any empire in history used the same tactics prize money or spoils of war 👍 if you had a war with anyone and you lost you got looted and the prizes would be sold to be split between the combatants was very Common. military equipment would be taken.ships would be seized. Camps and forts.palaces would all be looted for prize money 💰 then what would happen is the government's would put the stuff up for public auction.thats actually when these museums get involved and all stuff ended up in museums or in antique galleries👍 the practice only got stopped in 1920s by law I was actually surprised when I found out about it myself 🤔👍
It also seems possible that Reynald originally intended an attack upon the holy cities but those he sent to the task got distracted by more lucrative targets and blown off course.

According to Ibn Jubayr, it was stated that Reynald attempted to steal the body of the Prophet (PBUH) (Wa Allahu Allam). However, Ibn al-Athir and al-Dhahabi concentrated on Reynald's attack on Hijaz without mentioning this particular incident. Reynald's assault on Medina led Saladin to vow that he would kill him if he ever captured him, and this oath was reinforced when Reynald attacked the caravan. Nevertheless, the Muslim chroniclers of that era were united in their view that Reynald was the most despicable among the Crusaders. Quite ironically, if you don't mind us saying, we have just released a video on Reynald intended as a two part series: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4ZjyYMu4Nqg.html

Before this amazing video starts I'm guessing you'll probably mention Raynaud de Chatillon as he tried to destroy the kabaah but was brutally defeated by the ayubbid navy.
I'm only a teenager, but Arabic, Islamic, and especially Medieval Islam and Islamic jurisprudence fascinates me especially. But, since my age, and also lack of money therefrom, I cannot buy or acquire many resources on such topics ... would you have any recommendations on books, essays, or other forms of media to get started in any of such topics? Which would be best to start with? I do not know much Arabic, either, should I begin with a basic study of Arabic? Would the Hans-Wehr dictionary be useful for someone with no prior knowledge to the language, or should such a buy be reserved for later in study? I do not shy away from books or resources with academic and or pompous language either.
If you want to learn jurisprudence then it's better if you learn it under a scholar of islam or in madarasa, there you would have proper guidance because the books of jurisprudence aren't easy read and need a teacher.
"A European force hadn't entered the sea since 24 BCE" seems wrong considering there's a Roman inscription dating to 144 CE on the Farasan Islands which attests to a military garrison there.
@@masazis923 Google keeps deleting it when I try to tell you because of the no links rule I guess. Anyway you should be able to find reference to it under the title “Ausserhalb des Reiches? Zu neuen römischen Inschriften aus Saudi Arabien und zur Ausdehnung der römischen Herrschaft am Roten Meer” The oldest source I am aware of that mentions it is the *Proceedings of the Seminar of Arabian Studies* (2004). It seems to have been widely reported in around 2017 after a blog post mentioned the German article.
@@masazis923 In the 1st century AD, the islands were known as Portus Ferresanus. A Latin inscription dating from 144 AD has been found on the island which attests to the construction of a Roman garrison. It is believed that the islands may have been attached to the province of Arabia Felix, before being transferred to Aegyptus some time before 144 AD.[3] If this is correct, it would make the Farasan Islands the farthest Roman outpost, being nearly 4000 km from Rome itself. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farasan_Islands

I remember reading about Raynaud and his ability to plan long term was limited, to put it mildly, so the idea that he planned a raid but hadn't thought out the potential consequences seems in character.
A guy name Raynald of Châtillon had some sort of same intentions when salahudin ayyubi ( saladin) took the oath to kill him with his own hand. When Muslims defeated the crusaders in the battle of hattin and the king of Jerusalem and Reynold were taken as prisoners of war saladin offered a glass of water with ice to the king and the blow of his blade onto Reynolds neck. He was true to his word.

Awesome video! The shenanigans of Reynald sound rageful, cartoonish and tragic, all at once. I must point out that there were was a permanent Western presence on the Red Sea during the Roman Empire, mostly for trading purposes. The outpost of Portus Ferranus served as the furthest point of the Empire's reach, in the Farasan island (name derived from Roman times), in front of the Arabian city of Jazan. Recent archaeological evidence suggests that it was occupied during the times of Antoninus Pius (138-161 AD). Also, the Egyptian seaport of Berenice (250 kms east of Aswan) was founded in the 3rd century BC, later controlled by the Romans until the 4th century AD and abandoned on the 6th century AD. Thanks for your insightful videos!
We are familiar with another version of trying to steel the body. It talks about two Christians claiming to be Moroccans dug a tunnel from their accomidation in Madinah near the mosque toward the prophet tomb during Zinky time.
Salah-ud-deen finally gave this raynald guy what he deserved . The only regret I have is why he didn't he gave him excruciating pain for creating corruption in the land of the prophets between Muslims and Christians .
Reynald totally deserved it after everything he did. Speaking of Egypt and Syria, why didn't the Abbasid Caliphs seize authority back from the Mamluk Sultans and ruled Egypt and Syria themselves? I even heard that there was even one time that the Abbasid Caliph has to step up and govern Egypt and Syria himself. But then, he handed the authority back to the Mamluks. The point is that if the Abbasid Caliphate is restored in Egypt and Syria, will Sultan Selim I dared to annex Egypt and Syria?
The Mameluke were of Turkic origin, and therefore their martial skills were superior to the Arabs, just like the Germanic people are superior to the Latins. It’s not an accident the Christian West was ruled by Germanic peoples, Franks, Anglo-Saxons, Visigoths, Normans and Vikings while Islam was taken over by Turks like Seljuks, Ottomans, Safavids and Mughals.
For the same reason the imperial family of Japan didn't reassert their power in the time of the shogunates. They didn't have any military forces to call on and that position of semi useless spiritual leadership isnt that bad. You get all the lifestyle of a ruler with none of the actual responsibility.
Amazing video bro, love your content. But just as an FYI, it's pronounced 'Al Ayoubi' not just 'Ayoubi', and it's not 'loo loo' but 'Lu' Lu' ' there is a very crucial Hamza (ء) on the Waw (و).
Well you certainly don't take history lessons from religious scholars because they focus on religious studies, creed and theology, not history. That doesn't mean some scholars aren't good in history but yeah. It doesn't take much to make emotional people drink the koolaid. Take a random photo of some ancient footstep, attach a Prophet's or a saint's name to it and see how people start to swim in the koolaid lol.
I think of the whole period of crusades as a delicate period. The Kingdom of Jerusalem was always walking a tight rope in its neighborhood. A character like Raynald really added a lot of flavor to the stories. An interesting villain to the calm and collected Saladin.
AbuTahir Al-Jannabi destroyed kabba and took black stone which he used it in his toilet for 21 years to pee & poo on it to challenge allah and he succeed.
It was a fascinating period. And even tho quite bloody it was fairly tame compared ro a lot of Major wars and conquests of the time period. Reynald was definitly a bad guy, with poor strategy even if he was a good tactical commander and brave/daring. A perfect villain, competant and dangerous but ultimatly undone by his lack of perspective and self asurance.
Hey, I noticed a mistake. You said that European ships weren’t in the Red Sea after the failed annexation of Yemen by Aelius Gallus until the 16th century. The Romans were most present in the Red Sea after they brought the Nabateans under their rule. They built a garrison on Farasan Island in the mid 2nd century. Obviously you were going for a bit of a rhetorical flourish to emphasize the state of exception of the video topic. By my (limited) understanding, the decline of Petra is directly related to the Romans establishing this sea route, so this seems like a relevant enough oversight to actually point out. Love your videos.
The actual question ought to be, what body? When the Ummaiyad graves were desecrated by the Abbasids the older graves produced nothing but dust or few bone fragments.
There's an ayat in the Holy Qur'an.. "We made it and We shall protect it"... simple they can try whatever they want.. ALLAH says clearly he'll protect it...
10:59, That is exactly why we call them Munafiquun. a Bunch of Armed Crusaders requesting the help of a guide to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, it's so obvious.
Bro, u are wrong. Saladin is very diplomatic and intelligent. He does not make traps when he is in a war. He does it before going to war. He made an agreement with Frank's and others so that he could buy time to prepare to conjure Jerusalem. To do that first he shall unite Muslims worlds. So he always jump in to agreements and let the crusaders belive he is losing. What ever that I came across this is the story. I suggest u to review your view and news sources. This video is incorrect
Renault may have been belligerent as hell, but to try and steal the prophets body is just silly. It is far to hard to believe that this is true. Now to raid something or really anything, sure. The prophets corpse though? Man that's a tough sell without a doubt.
Reynald de Chatillion/Brins Arnat wasn't just a loose cannon. He was a dick. He basically ruined Cyprus, slaughtered the Orthodox priesthood, all for gold. That's against fellow Christians.
whenever you speak about Arabic sources you say it might not be true which is fine, but whenever you tell the story from the crusaders percpective you tell it as if it was a fact ! are you that concerned about western audiances? this is my 3rd time watching your videos.
As evil as Reynald was (May Allah Curse Him) he likely did not intend to take the Prophet's (PBUH) body. Ibn al-Athir or ad-Dhabi would have mentioned otherwise. Ibn Jubayr was the one who suggested that he did however he is not as reliable. Wa Allahu Allam.
I'm sorry you got that feeling. I didn't mention any crusader sources in this video because there are none. However, in some regards, Crusader sources would have been more accurate than Arabic ones. For example, there's no way an Arab writer would know what the intention of the raid was but a Christian writer would probably know. If we get both sides on a story, we're more likely to get a better idea of what happened.
That is its actual pronunciation. Makkah instead of Mecca. The complete name is Makkah Al- Mukarramah (The honoured city) while Medina is Arabic word for city. So when they said city of Medina it means "city of city" which kind of akward. The complete name at the time of the Prophet is "Madinatan Nabi" or sometimes they call it "Madinat Al-Nabi" which means City of The Prophet (City of Nabi). Present day Saudi renamed it to Madinah Al-Munawarah (The radiant City)

@@berdigylychrejepbayev7503 Please, do not blind yourself with fanaticism. in 1180 most Mediterranean islands had been recovered by the European states. The Almohad Caliphate was fast retreating in the Iberian Peninsula and would soon collapse. The Byzantines had recovered considerably. The Abbasid Caliphate was reduced to Iraq. And do not dream of help from the Seljuks in Iran or from India, there is no way logistics would work. At this time there was one strong muslim leader, Saladin, and he defeated the crusaders in Jerusalem. But even Saladin was not able to fully expel the crusaders. If he had 10 times the army, he would just be unable to find food, and he would still be unable to defeat the Bizantine ships armed with Greek fire. At this time, a large muslim invasion of Europe would be nothing more than a Zerg rush ending in a lot of drowning and starving muslim soldiers. What really opened the way for Europe was the 4th crusade, that destroyed the Byzantine empire, and the rise of the Ottomans, who build heavy armies, with infantry, cavalry AND artillery, able to face the European heavy armies on their own turf.

I’ve never heard any native Arab pronounce Mecca and Medina like you do. No need to fill your mouth with the words. The two names should smooth out effortlessly. What you do might impress on non Arabs that you know because you can pronounce these alien names, others will simply see it as a cover for ignorance on the material.
The way that I pronounce those city names comes from my mother language, Urdu. If you think that not pronouncing those Arab names as Arabs do (but rather with an accent) is a sign of "ignorance on the material" then I must that that's exactly what Arab supremacy looks like. That supremacy is, in turn, exactly what caused the downfall of Arabs and rise of non-Arabs in the Caliphates.
It is ignorance of Arabic. That’s the point. Urdu or any other imposition would not do for a performance of Shakespeare for example. Then again, no Urdu pronounces arabic as you do. Sorry. As for Arab supremacy, that’s a nonstarter since the point is Arabic, into which the Koran was dictated. That is, I guess, God’s choice. Talk to him about it. So if your mother speaks this way, try to correct her. A holy endeavor I should think. As for caliphate, it seems Arabs lost caliphate of Islam and gained a caliphate of oil. Now that is power!
