What you are saying if false, that's not what they said. All they said is that the UN has moved the unidentified corps into its own category. But the number of children and women hasn't been changed. The thing is, if you have a small body it's of course a child, but some children were so disfigured that they couldn't be identified: the UN has moved these into the "unidentified" category. Neither the number of death nor the "type" (men, women, children) has changed.

It says that the percentage of deaths were "recalculated" it could be either they recast the old ratio of 34k deaths to reflect in the identified ones OR it could be recount of deaths of women and children that are actually identified

Even if you believe the numbers from Hamas without any critical thought (as you seem to), the civilian to fighter death ratio in Gaza is a fraction of similar rates in other modern conflicts.

Even with the previous numbers, the ratio of civillians was lower than during the tskeover of Mosul in 2017

The overall number of deaths isn't what was reported to have been halved, it's the number of women and children that died. The 7500 is indeed a 50% reduction relative to 15,000. If you talk about the opposite, moving from 7500 to 15000, would be a 100% increase, that's the point I was clarifying initially.

There aren't enough unidentified (even 2 days later, with a higher total) to account for the numbers removed from the women & children subtotals. And it is completely unreasonable to assume that all of the unidentified bodies are women and children. It is also unreasonable to believe that when someone lied about the subtotals - for 7 months - and finally adjusted them, that there isn't a commensurate adjustment to the total.
