anyways, if you wanted to know why I said what I said in the comment, well let me explain it.
in the LOVTale dream and nightmare weren't biological brothers. it's more of a forced family kind of thing than anything (which explains why they both are literally the total opposite of each other).
what I meant by forced family is that they only become brothers because Nim forced them to work as the Guardians of the tree feelings, so they had no other choice.
Nightmare's previous name was Cale Evan and he was also a spoiled kid from one of the richest families in the village before becoming the guardian of negative feelings.
mean while Dream's previous name was Theo. he was a runaway orphan kid that worked in a cafe near the tree of feelings (which is why he doesn't have a last name).
so they kinda often argue with each other all the time (don't worry they soon warm up to each other because I'm soft)
OKAY NOW THE REAL EXPLANATION:
Nightmare is literally an asshole, the main reason why people don't like hanging out with him.
He neither lied to you all the time or just straight up manipulated you into doing things he wanted you to do.
which is how he receive the name 'Nightmare', because he's a literal nightmare to deal with.
