most women in Biblical times did put on headscarves as a sign of modesty. But what is most important as the Bible says is to put on the garments of righteousness.

Catholic here. From my understanding , we veil because we are vessels of life. Only 4 things are veiled in the Church, the Tabernacle, the chalice, the altar and women. It is an honor to be a vessel of life.
❤ That's what my mother taught me! It's also a great sign of modesty veiling our faces. And I even heard it shows submission and respect to the head of the family, the father or the husband. I hope I explained that last bit correctly.
As a young catholic girl I was taught to cover my hair in church so as not to distract the boys. To this day I thought that was the reason for the black veils . Anyways the custom was stopped somewhere around the sixties and seventies and I don’t know why.
@@bythegraceofadoni As muslims we do believe in Jesus and that he will come again at the day of judgement and we believe in Abraham and Adam and Mary and Moses and many others❤
@My47474 but you don't really know them. You have your own Islamic version of them. And it's weird that Jesus is mentioned more than Muhammed in the quran, revered more than mohammed, performs miracles in the quran, who's mother is mentioned unlike Muhammed in the quran... is believed to come back as a messiah... and yet.. still..... your parents and imams have drilled into their heads, like their parents to them and theirs to theirs... that Jesus is just a prophet.... riiiight. It's a shame muslims arnt allowed to critically think.
So what exactly makes a Muslim a Muslim? According to a Muslim (you). I'm just genuinely asking because I don't have any in person interactions with Muslims
I'm a Christian woman as well, and I don't veil. You don't need to veil to pray, it is not compulsory. The Bible tells us to come as we are to Christ and there is no correct way to pray. But, if you want to veil, then go ahead! Veiling symbolises humbling yourself to Christ. If you feel closer to God by veiling, then you do you boo! But don't think that it is compulsory. And what's more, you don't need to buy a specific veil to veil! You can use a scarf, bed-sheet, towel, etc. to veil. You don't need to buy an expensive veil that is exactly the same as a scarf. It is the action of veiling that matters, not the material.
@@celynamezGod also says - a woman who doesn't wear a head covering when praying dishonours her head & to dishonour her head she may aswell shave it. To shave her head subjects her to being seen as a "man" because they keep their heads cut low in order to honour Christ because the head of man is Christ & the head of Christ is God. 1 Corinthians 11:2-16
I'm a Christian from India. We women cover our head while praying. That was a tradition of early Christians while nowadays western Christians are not following it. I personally believe by wearing a veil you are showing respect to God.
I'm a Christian from India as well! But I do not veil because some of the verses in the Bible are time-specific. For example: the Bible tells us that "women should not cut their hair", because back in those days, women with short hair were seen as prost!tutes. In the same way, women not veiling, was seen as pride, which is a sin. However, veils no longer represent pride (in most churches) so we no longer veil. That being said, the belief varies from church-to-church.. so it is not just a "western Christian" thing. It's a church beliefs thing. Not all Indian, Christian women veil.
@@jacstvofficial4490 Not a majority actually, it's only in some churches. It depends on what each church believes.. not even denomination. Because in India, Anglican churches encourage veiling (though it is not compulsory), whereas in Australia and England, Anglican churches don't say anything about veiling (although of course if you want to, nobody will stop you).
The fact that Christians are never messing with others or disrespecting the beliefs of others is already a sign that the spirit of a true God of love and peace dwells inside them. Period. 🙏
I'm a Muslim but I get so happy seeing religious Christians or any religious people, because it shows that Islam isn't the only religion that's not fading or modernised
That simple Veil will change you at Mass, congratulations . I am 71 years old and I put my veil back on about 10 years ago. One church I go to no one veils. But the other one half do. It was very uncomfortable for me at first. Remember, the demon does not want any reverence shown to God. After a few weeks it will stopped. And now I wear my veil every time I go in church. I’ve thought of wearing it at home also when I pray. But I’m not there yet.
If you read the Bible it's to prevent an idle mind. Kinda like when people totally ignore that Mary was given a choice and was only favored. It never said she was the first choice.
@@Thatpalestiniankid as a Christian woman from America I love when you wear it. Christian women don't even know why they are to wear it. Most Christians in America are not truly christian at all. They haven't actually read the Bible. Don't be offended by their ignorance. Christian women are to be covered also but they do the opposite. We are to cover our heads to prevent influence by demons and not just when we go to church. For you it's a way of life but to them it's just for show.

You could always try sharing Genesis 49:10 with them! “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the staff from between his feet, until Shiloh (Jesus) comes and the allegiance of the nations is his.” It was the prophecy that Jacob spoke over his son Judah right before he died. Jesus came from the bloodline of Judah because Judah, in the end chose to sacrifice himself for his brothers safety as they stood before Joseph. It was a promise that all of the kings and rulers would come from him as proof that Jesus was who he said he was. The obedience of the nations means that Jesus wasn’t going to come just for the Jews. He came to them first but then he preached the Good News to everyone. No one was excluded! God bless you and it’s wonderful that you are in the family. I pray for a hedge of protection to surround you as you come into contact with your people who may be against your acceptance of Christ! In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻

My mother left the country and spent our entire savings after creating years of struggle in our family which lead to the inevitable death of my father who had drowned himself in alcolism because of the antics of my mother. Is she protected as well now that she left me with all the responsibility and creating only more trouble for me just by existing? If so then I am cursed. The Quran tells us to. Note Q 9:29 where it calls Christianity the Religion of the Truth and commands us placing the Jizyah at Islam. However we disagree. For the Lord Jesus has said. Freely it has been given therefore give freely.
No one in Christianity has said that Muslims should not veil. We have no problem with veiling. The issue is that Islam is not the Truth, though it claims to be. Hello do you Arab christians call Almighty god Allah or are they different i have many christian friends in CANADA they say Allah and god are different
That's nonsense! AL- ILLAH means THE GOD. AL-LAH is a shortened form of THE GOD. Arabic orthodox Christians also say ALLAH. "OUM ALLAH" for example is a very popular hymn by fairouz about the Mother of Christ
This is the thing that riles me up so much. The ignorant western Christians that are so desperate to disprove Islam. They came up with stuffs like Islamic Allah and the Monotheistic God is distinct. They ignored the Arab Christians all entirely. I don't quiet understand. In some Muslim countries also, they think Allah is an exclusive rights for Muslim. We believe in the same God but our theological interpretation of that oneness is different. We Muslims generally cannot grasps the concept of trinity as it is a matter of faith. We believe our prophet was ascended to heaven in his night journey. This also cannot be proven but as a matter of faith as written in the Qur'an. Interestingly, this is Genesis 1 Chapter 1. See the word Allah was used. فِي الْبَدْءِ خَلَقَ اللهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالارْضَ
I disagree. The way into heaven is through Jesus. Jesus pais the price for our sins by bleeding and dying on the cross. Instead of me,you or anybody else paying for their sins through death, Jesus paid it for us. He was buried for 3 days and then he rose up from the dead. Jesus defeated death and proved he is God by defeating death. John 4:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 5-8
