I had one and yes a big pain. Cost you money to install,periodic calibration ,removal, and detects alcohol from a mouth wash. Must attend to it when and while you are cruising. Mine didnt have a camera. The device would require you to blow every so often while the ignition or engine is running.
Yeah, my problem is I have the device installed. I keep it current and calibrated account is paid up, but I don’t drive the vehicle at all. I hooked up a battery tender to it and they’re trying to threaten me saying they could take me to court because they have no data, I am basically denying them the ability to nickel and dime to death for service calls I was told that the unit has to remain at body temperature at all times I live in Idaho gets hot in the summer frigid in the winter
I’ve had one for 1 year and man it fucking sucks 😂, thank god mine wasn’t as bad or didn’t cost as much due to the company looking for a cheaper mechanic for me, but people if you do get drunk please don’t drive, it’s not worth 10k-15k when a Uber ride is only 30, you afraid of leaving your car near the club? Well don’t drive there 😂…btw you won’t get a interlock device unless you are convicted of dui, you don’t get one by refusing a breathalyzer 😂
Absolutely true I second that. Although the last part is my point in some states you do get the breathalyzer for refusing. Check your state but this situation is Colorado
Stories from all over the country of cops arresting sober people. Seems if you start awarding cops for most dui arrests you end up with innocent people being arrested.
I honestly don't know why most cars don't come stock woth atleast a rudimentary breathalyzer ignition system. Besides the small amount of people that have big enough properties to drive around on and do work with a vehicle theres no good reason not to other thwn mild inconvenience but the amount of lives it would save from drunk drivers would have to drop even if its not perfect. The camera part i don't like from a "putting it in every car" perspective but it makes sense because of a court order needing to know whos actually starting the car but just a basic one without a camera would be better than nothing for bornal cars and youd be able to get them removed under certain circumstances kinda like how historical tags are technically limited on what they do and where they can go we fould create an exception list or something
