@@TheTruthKiwi I would say it's more frustrating that unbelievable. Historically 80-90% of people believe in some form of religion, and that gets baked into societies, so that's a tough thing to unravel. Add to that the fact that is where those people deriver their meaning and purpose from, and it's near impossible to overcome. I was one of them. The biggest surprise in my deconversion is that after a rough patch, my life is actually more meaningful to me. One thing you left out of that list is another huge factor is cognitive bias.
This is one reason the early church should have put focus on literary while giving access to the scriptures instead of hiding them away allowing only for ordained to interpret them.

If you teach people the doctrines of Christianity, and tell them that it's true, and if they believe you, then they will become converts. I would like to know how you could ever convert someone to any position on anything without teaching them about it in the process. This just sounds like shifty word trickery to me.

If by atheism you mean : "The belief that no God exists", then the burden of proof is too heavy for an atheist to carry. An atheist would have to prove that it is impossible for God to exist. This would require knowing everything. Yes, this would also include knowing if anything exists outside of our universe or not. We do not have the resources to pull back our universe and look around outside of it. Since the possibility exists that God exists, then atheism is not a rationally justified position to hold. No one has ever proven it is impossible for God to exist. I'm convinced the possibility God exists is at 100% because He revealed Himself to us through Jesus. The historical facts of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are best explained by Jesus being God. Jesus claimed to be God and was worshiped as God and his resurrection from the dead validated his claim. So with Jesus we have God visiting us as one of us, and his impact in history resembles what would happen if God visited us.
Just do your research on Atheism without only looking at people who agree with your confirmation biased agenda against Christianity and religion/religious beliefs in general

Hey Cam I was just watching one of ur older videos with ur frnd regarding catholicism....one thing I had a big issue with was u were okay with purgatory....whats ur take on that...any change or u still with the same view....also ur understanding of sanctification is very wrong...No offense ....I just want to offer u what bible actually teaches regarding that topic
purgatory is just a name we give to the process of purification of the soul prior to heaven. Its described in the New Testament that some will be saved as if through fire, and a sort of purgation was even believed by many Old Testament jews. It is not necessary that purgatory be thought of as a "third place" alongside heaven and hell. even if the scripture is not describing something that occurs after death, purgation still certainly does not contradict scripture in any way

There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. How does a person base his salvation on a book that : 1- has been repeatedly changed throughout History 2 - its authors are unknown historically 3 - Has clear contradictions in it These 3 facts are unanimously agreed by bilblical scholars (yes BIBLICAL scholars). Different christian denominations haven't even the same number of books in their Bible. So again my question : how a person can base his salvation on this thing called the Bible. This just doesn't make sense, with all due respect to Christians. Jesus didn't even speak Greek for God's sake. The earliest manuscripts ever found of the new testament are in Greek. No manuscripts are ever found in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ. Again, this fact is unanimously agreed by biblical scholars. And you can check every single thing I've said in this comment. Do your research and If you can prove me wrong I'm all ears.

As a Muslim ,I believe that Quran and Bilbe both holy books were revealed by the same God "ALLAH" . Teaching is explaining the functioning of reality. Children should not be exposed to religious ideas before they have the necessary tools to evaluate and accept or reject them. Otherwise it is indoctrination. No. Jesus did not inaugurate a teaching world view. For some reason this man is unaware of all ancient cultures including the Greek.
This man doesn't seem to be aware that Jesus appeared to be preaching the end was within a few decades as most - he was more of a 'you better get it together now' proponent than a worldview that would last 2000 years or more. He seems like a nice guy, but I really think they should look into any arrests or convictions that this guy's investigations may have led to. Talk about jumping to conclusions that aren't there.
@@leob3447 Jesus knew the Jewish world/economy based on the Mosaic covenant was about to come down so he warned everyone to escape that judgment. That was his "you better get it together now" messages. Jesus was also establishing a covenant that would never go away; a covenant based on his own blood and teachings. It was his intention that this covenant would last forever. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but *my words will never pass away."* (Matthew 24 : 35) "In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is *the new covenant in my blood,* which is poured out for you." (Luke 22 : 20) Jesus' eternal covenant is the foundation for the kingdom he rules. The angel who delivered the news about Jesus to Mary said, "You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; *his kingdom will never end.”* (Luke 1 : 31 - 33) This is the same kingdom prophesied in Daniel 2 : 44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but *it will itself endure forever."* So here we are today and those kingdoms have already ended while the citizens of Jesus' kingdom can be found all over the world growing more and more each day. Jesus knew his worldview would last 2,000 years and he prophesied it will never pass away.

The problem is that to not teach kids that God exists is to teach them that God does not exist. You can't raise a child neutrally towards something so fundamental to life. If they ask "how did we get here" and you answer "we don't know" you are teaching them to have a particular epistemological stance. It is "indoctrination" either way.
