Thank you so much for watching Supernatural - Season 3 Episode 1 with me!
Intense start of season 3, but at least my emotions are somewhat intact. I was so excited to meet other hunters that Bobby seemed to know of, but now I'm sad as we had to say goodbye to Isaac already. I love that they wanted to give us a taste of what this war might look like and what they let out of hell by giving us the 7 deadly sins - very cool!

So a quote you didn't get; the original is: "Who was that masked man?" It was the tag line for a very old western radio show that became a tv series called The Lone Ranger. Hiding his face behind a mask and taking down the villains each week. Fun fact, his 'calling card' was a silver bullet. He rode a white horse named Silver and was way ahead of the times socially as his partner was a Native American (referred to as an Indian back then - now socially and politically incorrect) both in real life and as the character Tonto. Silver was all about purity and the good versus evil so that would actually be in the lore Sam and Dean grew up on. Ironic, right?

It makes more sense that it was a reference, I got confused thinking maybe it was Sam trying to hide something. Omg, that's interesting! Thank you for sharing that, I love how well connected that one thing was!

Loved this episode ❤ the scene when Sam get into the back off the car he hurt his head verry bad. From that moment on Sam didn't sit in the back off the car anymore because he's just to tall.😅 They talked about it on a SPN convention that i have seen on RU-vid.

Me too!❤️ Oh nooo, that must have been painful. I’m happy he was able to sit in the front after that. I love that the brought it up on a convention. 🙈

6:18 - "Candygram." This is a callback to an old Saturday Night Live episode in which they spoofed the movie "Jaws." (SNL is a sketch comedy show.) But instead of a shark threatening the beach, it was a shark going door-to-door, tricking people into opening up so it could attack. The skit had people made aware of the shark attacks, so one woman refused to open her door, at which point the shark said, "Candygram." And let's face it... Who wouldn't open the door for candy? 😁 14:58 - This is one of the most brutal deaths I've ever seen on a television show. When the demon held up the drain cleaner, I was praying that Sam, Dean, and Bobby would make it before anything bad happened, and... Yeah, I found this scene traumatizing. 18:56 - This is an allusion to an utterance of Jesus in John 8:7. A woman had committed adultery and the law said that she was to be stoned to death. So Jesus replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” In other words, "None of you are perfect. Sit down and shut up." 😉 24:24 - Very proud of you. 😊 33:28 - Let me put you out of your misery. You're not dumb. It's not Jo. You'll learn more in time. 😉 Always fun watching you have fun with the show.

Oooh it's from SNL! I know what it is but never really watched it. Now I get the reference, and that's pretty funny haha! The deaths was horrific, I didn't wanna watch even! Scary for sure, with all the boy still there. It makes sense that it is from the bible, thank you for explaining!! Also true, at least the meaning behind it haha. Yaaas thank you haha, I felt so proud finally catching a quote! I realised it didn't exactly make sense, but I was thinking that if it had been some time, she could have trained and comeback to be a badass but I know it was a a long shot haha. Thank you for watching it with me!!

I really enjoyed this one, seeing Dean living life to the fullest and poor Sam starting to realize that they have a big job ahead of them. Always good to see Bobby, and the new hunters were okay. The drano scene is still so awful to watch and the family watching Dallas as they die of starvation was a cool blast to the past for me,lol. I am intrigued bu the masked chick and her knife. The ending brotherly scene is so well acted, the timing of lines (especially "that's Hellfire Dean") was fantastic~ I am looking forward to you viewing this short season.

Loved this! I really enjoy this episode - it is intense with the 7 deadly sins. It is both enjoyable and heartbreaking to see Dean just trying to "kill some evil sons of bitches and raise a little hell". Because like you, I understand the mentality - just wanting to enjoy the year he's got. But he is being reckless, and I completely understand Sam not being willing to let it go, of course he isn't. And of course he feels guilty that Dean sacrificed himself to save him. But of course he shouldn't, just like Dean never needed to feel guilty for John. Both John and Dean made their own choices to sacrifice themselves, and it's not Dean's or Sam's fault. Of course, that isn't going to stop Sam from feeling guilty. Honestly, I really don't like Tamara and Isaac. I think they're kind of idiotic when it comes to being hunters. Isaac was so mean and rude to the boys (and that was the beginning of the end of my liking for him - NO ONE comes for my boys!) and Tamara almost got them all killed because of her "wrath". Also, you weren't wrong that the way she said that the guy "didn't make it" was a bit weird. It wasn't explicitly stated, but my theory is this. It's alluded to a few times throughout the series, especially early on that you have to be a little careful performing exorcisms cause it can be "too much" for the person's body, and it can kill them if you rip the demon out too harshly, or if the demon holds on too hard. So, I feel like this exchange... Tamara (in a blasé manner): The demon's out of the guy. Sam: And the guy? Tamara (still calm about it): He didn't make it ...is the show's way of telling us that, at best, Tamara doesn't really care that the human host died. Or that, at worst, she wanted to cause the demon so much pain (exorcisms hurt demons a lot) that she wasn't bothering to worry about what it was doing to the human host. So, as much as I can sympathize with her pain, and understand her need for revenge, I can't like her. And the two of them refusing to work with Sam and Dean because they "let the demons out of the Devil's Gate", is what caused all of that to happen, so they kinda brought it on themselves. And, as you realized, Isaac was completely wrong and an assh*le for accusing them of causing all the trouble. Because the fact is things would have been SO much worse if they weren't there! Jake opened the Devil's Gate, and he would have done it, regardless! But if Sam and Dean (and Bobby and Ellen) weren't there, the friggin' gate would still be open, and the yellow-eyed-demon (one of the worst around!) would still be walking the earth and wreaking havoc. Long story short, as I said - DON'T come for my boys!! Congrats on picking up the "Here's Johnny" reference. Lol! Nicely done. The "masked chick" comment from Dean is kind of a reference again, and doesn't actually say anything about the woman for real, or suggest that Sam kept her appearance a secret from them. It's a bit hard to explain, but I think the line "Who was that masked man?" was originally a line of dialogue in the TV show "Lone Ranger", but I think it's also kind of a reference to like, old timey comic book heroes too. It was the kind of thing that "citizens" would ask after they were saved by the Lone Ranger, or Batman, or Zorro, or any other "savior" that wore a mask to hide their identity. So because she mysteriously "rode in" and saved the day, Dean made that reference. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, as always, I've rambled on! Great reaction - looking forward to watching S3 with you!

The 7 deadly sins really caught me off guard, what a powerful start! :scream: I agree. I get that Dean want to do that but it's painful to watch. It also hard understanding both boys so well, getting that Dean wants to enjoy his year and that he is more reckless knowing he only has one to go. But then also getting Sam, from his perspective seeing Dean almost making the year shorter, not wanting to try to solve the problem and just giving up. I think Sam will always feel guilty, even though he shouldn't. As Dean feel guilty at least up until the point where he sacrifices himself for Sam (and maybe still). Hahah I get what you are saying! I feel like they could have been interesting to see again, but they aren’t exactly sooth or cooperative 🤦🏼‍♀️ I agree of Isaac being very rude - and for no real reason. I feel like if you met someone like they did you would suspect then of being hunters, or at least paranormal thrill seekers or neighbours. So no need to be so rude! I think subway her wrath is what made her say it that way, like she simply didn’t care anymore. That’s scary to me! I didn’t catch on to that it might affect the person performing the exorcism but that would make sense. And I think your right, my theory is that she normally would maybe not care - or try to save the human. But filled with hate, anger and grief she probably went after it knowing the human would get hurt but the revenge took over and that didn’t matter anymore. 😭 I get what you mean. I wanted to get some new hunters in to the ropes, but I also dislike what she did and the way she acted. I don’t know who re real her is, or normal her, but she scared me after that and knowing she could go this far def didn’t feel good! I didn’t even understand why they choose to think that they did it, when they did their best to prevent it. They could have been there to help if they thought they didn’t to a good enough job😤like imagine they weren’t there!! It would have been the end of the world 😭 but yes - don’t come for the boys!!! Thank you for noticing, I felt very proud of finally catching a reference 😂🙈 I makes sense now that it might have been a reference, in the moment I thought he was trying to hide something haha. That did make sense, thank you for explaining it!! Thank you so much for your lovely comments as always, they are so nice and fun to read. I’m so excited to watch season three together!🥰

so many- I did not see this coming - moments.. Welcome to Season 3. Casting the first stone is a bible reference.. let he who is without sin cast the first stone. bts tidbit- Jared lost some scalp shooting the scene of him getting in the back seat of Bobby's car and just kept going in the scene, barely noticing, while the crew was freaking out a little. The blonde girl we don't know much about yet is Katie Cassidy- David Cassidy's daughter- one of my first crushes..singer in the late 60s- early 70s. RU-vid has a bunch of his music... I know.. cover up, my age is showing again.

That's really not true...1 through 5 are the best seasons, with season 3 being the worst out of the 5 (still great, though) I'd say the last 3 seasons are the worst of the show, then 6 through 12 are somewhere in the middle (with 8, 9, 10 and 11 beung the best from that bunch) Anyway, it's all personal preference.
