Not necessarily. When enough time passes and victims and witnesses become older and more secure in their lives and willingness to come forward, it forces a dam break of sorts. It happened with Weinstein; he was essentially the boss of Hollywood who got away with a lot for a long time but the cards toppled over after enough years, victims, talk, and criminal conduct becomes way too loud to ignore from old industry whispers. Once even a solid victim-witness steps up, it starts a chain reaction of others doing the same if the climate is ripe to hold these people accountable and put on the feds' radar. In simpler terms, if one is engaging in rampant criminal deeds for however many years stacked one on top of another, it'll catch up with them in a long enough space of time even if they have the wealth, connections, and power to successfully cover it up for a while. R. Kelly walked from his CP case in 2009 when he was literally on video at his house engaged in sex acts with a minor because he had the money and means to claw out of it. He still kept up his criminal sexual nonsense for years and it simply caught up to him to the point he's sitting down in a cell for 30 years now. Diddy has been doing these things for a long time and especially in this culture and climate, it's finally catching up with him and the feds have probably been looking at him for a while. The only real factor to rev this entire thing is likely due to the victims and witnesses coming forward after so many years if not decades.

Not necessarily. For someone like him who has a net worth into the billions such as him they got to make sure they dot their I's , cross their T's, so that they have an ironclad case against him. Otherwise, he will use his money, his power, his Prestige, his influence and even assistance from his hidden backers to worm his way out of this case. So I just think that it's a matter of them making sure that they have enough against him so that he can't wriggle his way out of it.
