Those are the comfiest seats of all mk2s out there. 2:32 You gotta wait till the yellow glowplug light is out, golf mk2/jetta mk2 engines need glowplugs even during summer. Also I gotta point out the injection pump is from a turbo diesel model (51kw/59kw) cause it has "mushroom" on top of it.
You can say that again, very comfy and man they have held up great over 33 years! I'll get to it in a future episode, but the glow plug light actually does not go out at all unless I start it. I'm well versed enough in diesels from Merecedes land to know that one at least, so I'm sure the GP relay is either bad or something has been jerry-rigged to run the plugs for as long as possible (this was previously a Michigan car!). The hard start ended up being a low battery, I discover that in the second episode. Starts lickety split now. Interesting about the injection pump, I'll have to ask if it was replaced at some point (one perk of the owner since new being my uncle!). Might have something to do with the runaway!
@@WurstKaseParkhaus If it sounded condescending I didnt mean it, before all glowplugs went out on my Golf mk2 diesel I thought you could start them in warmer weather but even in 25 celsius the completly cold engine would crank 40 seconds before starting
@@WurstKaseParkhaus I did some more research and I was wrong, the injection pump is from turbo diesel engine but in the US they put them on NA diesel engines to reduce emissions, eco jetta/golf
@@neonaffliction Interesting! I was looking myself and could not find much, but glad to know that it is the "stock" pump. My uncle who gave me the car had no recollection of it being replaced, so mystery solved!
