Diesel in Croatia, part 1 of 2, Split-Perković 

Diesel enthusiasts will know the railway from Ogulin to Split. That's 326 km of railtrack in the beautiful and sometimes spectacular landscapes of Lika (Ogulin-Knin) and Dalmatia (Knin-Split). Passenger trains are hauled by class 2044 locos or nagibini DMU class 7123. During my visit in early June 2014, only 2 nagibini were in service, guaranteeing at least one ICN per day to be loco hauled. Also, the local trains Split-Perković were loco hauled. Freight trains are the job of class 2062.1. These are modernized 2062.0 (664.0), originally delivered by GM to JŽ. The modernization didn't change the unique sound of the engines.
