I have had nothing but problems on my 2014 ram since the install. I have had it at the original shop 3 times replacing the manifold gasket, drove it all the way to fleece in Indiana, it blew again by Montana, had it fixed in Montana, and pulling an empty 9,000 lb trailer blew again in Medford OR. Don’t wast your time if you tow, get a compounding turbo.

@@DieselPowerProducts got it in the truck, we removed the entire battery and box, which helped a bunch. Truck runs amazing now! I'm seeing 30-31 pounds of boost topped out, 3/4 throttle it easily spools to 24 psi and gets the truck moving. I'm deleted and tuned so that helps a bunch. Took us 6 hours and a 30 pack to finish it. All my codes cleared the next day on their own. I tow regularly and it is a noticeable difference it how it pulls. Makes your load seem lighter ha! Much faster in general, the turbo whistle is beautiful too. Great product, very happy so far. Had it on the truck a week now.

@DieselPowerProducts
@DieselPowerProducts 2 года назад
Right on Timmy! Thanks for your input. We have not come across any longevity issues with these turbos. One thing to consider, is reason for failure. Depending on the truck and it's use, the turbo could possibly be miss diagnosed. There are tons of people running larger tires, stock gears, and hot tunes. Then they proceed to tow heavy, resulting in EGT's through the roof. Rather than finding the root of the issue (miss matched gears & tires) they go for more power. In this case the turbo was destined for failure, independent of the brand, etc. If you have any questions or want to go over your build to see if this is right for you, shoot our sales taches a call! 2010 6.7 Cummins - 2nd Gen swap kit with S467.7 - 4 inch downpipe (I think) - I'd like to have an exhaust brake again. Can the Fleece VGT drop in with minimal fab work?
@DieselPowerProducts
@DieselPowerProducts 3 года назад
I would say for the most part, yes. Main parts you would need an exhaust manifold, down pipe, intake, charge pipe, oil feed and drain, and most of all, new custom tuning. Depending on the kit used, you may end up needing some other random items. If you put the 2nd gen set up on your truck, and you have all your old parts still, you are basically there. If not, that is a good list to go from. We can help with all of this, aside from the tuning. Shoot us a call and we will set you up! We are on the phones M-F 6AM-6PM PST. 888-993-4373 -Ben

What is the major difference from the 63 "street" and 63"race" chargers
@DieselPowerProducts
@DieselPowerProducts 2 года назад
The Street option will have a smaller turbine compared to the larger turbine in the Race. A larger turbine will benefit those using the truck in a race type scenario, as a larger turbine is suited for larger injectors and a truck whose goal is to make more power on the top end (drag racing, sled pulling, etc). As opposed to a truck that spends most of its time on the street and still needs to perform some normal truck duties (daily driving, towing, etc). The smaller turbine will allow the turbo to spool up faster and have more low end grunt. Hope that helps!

Just cruising it’s usually under 700 even with that weight behind it. Empty and on power tune it’s still low unless I rip it and it will shoot up pretty high under throttle but immediately drops back to normal when I let out.

I loved my cheetah fleece on my 6.7 cummins until about a month ago. My actuator went bad with not even 10k on the the turbo. Took it to a diesel shop they tested it said the turbo actuator was bad, an turbo was good. Fleece backed up there warranty because I'm still under two years. The shop did calibrate the new actuator for the turbo an truck still not running right. It's doing everything a bad actuator would do, it's over boosting, the turbo is whistling real loud ever since this has started, an under normal driving to get up to speed limit around 1500 to 2200rpms the truck is surging. No one can figer it out, turned into quite the headache.
@DieselPowerProducts

Sounds like more diagnosing is in order! I would hope that a boost leak test was done and possibly some data logs were looked at.
@zac1121

I did a data log an sent it to the tuner hopefully get some good new back, but ever since it's been doing this the transmission is shifting kinda goofy an it's shifting harder than normal under a load, between 1500 amn 2200 rpm in 1st 2nd an 3rd gear it seems like the engine is almost kinda surging but in hwy gears it acts fine. I talked to fleece the guy told me it could be a number of things wrong but if it's shifting differently ever since the issue, he said a bad turbo will not make an transmission act funny, an bad transmission will make a turbo act funny. It's got me thinking it could possibly be a transmission issue here.

@DieselPowerProducts
@DieselPowerProducts Год назад
I have no idea why these trucks ever came with 3.42's. Even with stock tires, the truck is still under geared. If you are using it hard, and have added more power, I would not be surprised if you have transmission issues. I would heavily consider going to a 3.73, or if you are going to a little larger tire, a 4.10. Giving that truck slightly better than stock mechanical advantage will do WONDERS to the power you can put to the ground and the longevity of your transmission.

@DieselPowerProducts 2 года назад
Well, small world. This is Ben Little, I appreciate the compliment. :) Correct about the exhaust brake. You would lose the factory style brake, as it is just using the vanes in the exhaust housing. If you wanted to reincorporate a brake onto the truck, you'd be doing a more traditional style exhaust brake, by way of a butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe with an air actuator. Something like this, from BD, would work PN: BD-1027344. This kit will come with the brake itself, and everything you need to install it. Neat thing about this particular kit form BD, it is designed to use the factory switches. So inside the cab, everything will appear, and function like factory. -Ben
