It's the salt from your sweat I think. Imagine if someone you knew sweated and tasted like bacon, sugar, sugared bacon or whatever you would prefer. You would be tempted to lick them too. Baring that imagine if your pet did so and you would be licking them right back.
My sister calls it “The Piglet & Worm Theory”. You either have a piglet (stiff in the middle, picks up like a wriggly handbag). Or, a Worm that you have to pick up like a slime, folds at the touch, drapes easily (maybe too much trust). Both cats and dogs alike
The first example is genuinely so true. Whenever I try to pet my cat as he walks by me, his body becomes a liquid and he melts away from my touch. It hurts
This is true! When you pick up a cat, they try to hold on to the ground as long as possible. When you pick up a dog, they immediately let go of the ground. When you pet a cat, I feel like they turn into a little pancake! (Especially kittens) also, when you pet a dog (especially puppies) they lick your hand until they are all the way upside down! I love your vids, I’ve watched every single one! Keep it up! 😀☺️🐶🐱 Edit: and yes, I liked my own comment.
When I was a child, I fed my father's family cat and asked him if it tasted good. I was still traumatized by the threat when I asked if it tasted good.
I seem to remember a story in Norse Mythology where Thor went through a series of tests (which he all "failed") and one of them was to pick up a cat -- the cat did the long cat thing and no matter how high he lifted it, its paws were still on the ground and it was purring tremendously 😸 Clearly the Norse know what's up
Well, I have a dog and two cats, and my dog never picks my hand but rather the carpet or digs at it with his pawed feet or tries to bite chew his own foot off my cats both love attention and will lie on your lap and want you to pet them and purr happily if you do pet them.
What are yall doing to ur cats that they dont lean into and rub against your hands at any given opportunity, including but not limited to when you go to pet them? Lol
I have long been convinced that one of my cats is half a dog. Do you know why? Yes, my cat often crouches to the floor when i try to pet her without her own will, however, if she turns on the "Cuddle" mode, she can slobber over me like a dog. My cat also likes to arch her back when i try to pick her up. This is typical of a cat, but she also likes to wave her tail when she is happy with me, like a dog :D
