Thank you for your teaching , Miss Ceema . I used to confuse about these two words using on English practice before . Now , I had firmly known the in and on these two prepositions using .

I find this particular topic very interesting. Think about these prepositional sentences. "She is sitting ON an armchair." "She is sitting ON a wheelchair." Although they are both surfaces that you sit ON they are also semi-enclosed by arm rests. I believe this allows you to use 'IN' instead of 'ON'. Listen to these sentences now. "She is sitting IN an armchair." "She is sitting IN a wheelchair." Very interesting but in this case I believe 'IN' is better.

well, this is interesting but incomplete, since AT proposition is part of this confusion for other non-English speaking ppl. AT is used as well for places, times (dates), etc... so I (a Spanish speaking guy) have to juggle with this proposition to choose from when it comes to deciding which one to use or fits right...

Hi Ceema, sorry if my question is too stupid, but, how you tell us to use the preposition in for city and country, could I think that these aren't a surface? Such as they have air space and under ground that is part of these? Having this as argument to use "in" for these cases?
@billyrayrain

So, in iOS application commercials is it grammatically incorrect to say "on the App Store" instead of "in the App Store"?

If "in" used for enclosed space then see this example "cat is sitting on wall". Wall also physically enclosed with dimensions so why we are using on instated of in?

i already know how/where to use in and on for positions. But what about when to use in and on, in a sentence without physical positions/ surface positions. ex. Tree's leaves stay green, and they go right "on" producing delicious fruit. -why "on" and not "in?" next example: Obsession "in" this matter. -why "IN" is used? why not "ON" instead?
