I think alot of pro athletes just get burnt out on working out all the time. You gotta think most of these dudes started playing as kids and never quit while progressively getting more competitive. Props to them for living a lifestyle they want afterwards
Exactly. I definitely think it's cool that Ronaldo has maintained his physique for so long but, Just because a man isn't grinding 24*7, doesn't mean he's a failure. I feel that in today's society, if a man isn't among the top 15-20% in terms of looks, money, status or power, people just think he's some invisible average nobody.
@AM-mp7ug I mean he's still playing right? So makes sense he's in shape. The other guys were retired I'm guessing. Some guys just don't want to spend 20 years playing pro sports, some NFL dudes play a few seasons and retire with a fat stack. Smart in contact sports.
I barely work out at all (few weights at home for 5 minutes when I remember) and I look better at 38 than I did in my 20s. Problem athletes have is they are used to eating so much more than a normal person because their job is to exercise. If they retire and don't moderate their diet, getting fat is inevitable.
These people all had the dedication to reach the pinnacle of their profession. Every one of them has a better mentality than any of us judging them in the comments section 😂😂

CR7 needs the hard work more then players who are gifted with technique. Messi is not that much body shaped as Ronaldo and still a great player. Not that Messi is a better player, he's still pretty good
You’ve got to remember, all the others had retired but Ronaldo is still playing so he kinda has to stay in shape. In all honesty, I bet he still will after he retires though.
The coaches don’t play to lead a team to nationals and championships and greatness, they don’t need to train as hard because it’s all in their mind, a motivation speaker doesn’t need to have the most athletic body in the world to move and inspire some of the most amazing athletes the words ever seen and the same goes with A content creator doesn’t need to have a great physique or body to bring awareness and inspire others by opening their eyes,

Well yes it does require immense discipline to stay in shape like that. But for a professional footballer a more slim bodytype with less muscle mass is much more optimal for cardio and stamina. The extra muscle doesn't really add anything but only makes you perform worse on the pitch. So you might be asking, why would Ronaldo have so much excess muscle mass? This is for brand and image reasons.

Ok, but Ronaldo is still an active athlete, and everyone listed has already finished their career. Plus Ronaldo (the Brazilian) has always had a tendency to be overweight, and Rooney has always had a heavy build.

The reason footballers put on weight after retirement is because they continue to consume the calories they needed when they were training and playing regularly. After they stop training, their calorie intake should drop to the level of activity, but it doesn’t. Ronaldo still looks great because he’s still an active player. He may, end up in the same way if he either stops training and/or he doesn’t reduce his calorie intake.

@@Abababab2100 it’s not anything to do with genius or not. It’s hunger, their stomach get enlarged after years of consuming large amounts of food. So even with less activity, they feel hungry as if they’ve been training all day. Few people manage to readjust in the reverse and that’s why weight gain for athletes is common post retirement.
Sorry but no. Cristiano is all about discline. I'm sure that when he retires will be in shape. Also he doesn't drink alcohol, most of those bellies are like that because alcohol and eating garbage.

They are all retired and Ronaldo isnt so thats why he is healthy, has abs and has great mentality because he still trains everyday but he does soo much work on his body which I Respect so much for a 38 year old and he is my G.O.A.T
