Feech has already had a big influence on the show up to this point. If you recall, Ralphie tells Jackie Jr a story of how Tony got made, by robbing Feech Lamanna's card game, which inspires Jackie to boost his resume in life....

It’s nice to see people really enjoy the humour in this show. Genuinely think it’s funnier than a lot of comedies, and for me it’s funnier on the rewatch because you miss a lot the first time round. Best reactors I’ve seen watch this.

in S2, when Richie and Tony meet at the mall, Richie reminds Tony how he stepped up for him and his brother Jackie when they robbed Feech LaManna's card game. in S3, Ralph tells Jackie Jr. the story about how his Faatha and Tony robbed Feech's card game which inspired Jackie jr. to fuck up as he did. in S5 we meet legendary Feech in person 😂😂

Feech Lamana was mentioned earlier on. He's the one who had his card game robbed by young Tony Soprano which influenced Jackie Jr to do his failed card game robbery

Season 3 may be my favorite for nostalgia purposes (the last view of life before 9/11) but I think season 5 without a doubt is the *best* season of the series, and that is saying a lot.

Symbolically... the bear is Tony & his big presence alway hovering around. AJ screaming “Mommy!!” like a little girl was similar to the guy who shot Christopher screaming “Mommy!” just before Tony & Pussy shot him. Point being... AJ thought he might die when he saw that bear. He was literally scared to death at that moment.

The guy appearing on the tv show talking about all the mob guys coming out of jail is Matthew Weiner, who joined the writers staff this season. He got the job showing Chase his pilot script for Mad Men, which he was able to create after Sopranos... on AMC, since HBO said no, despite Chase recommending it. HBO really dropped the ball there, since Mad Men basically kickstarted AMC (Breaking Bad took a while to be popular).

Season five and season six B (the last season) both won Emmys for Drama Series. It also won writing Emmys for every season except season 2 (which it should have won for as well tbh). Gandolfini won three Emmys for the show and should have won more. Edie won three as well and probably should have won one more. Drea won a supporting Emmy. Michael won a supporting Emmy. Joe Pantoliano won a supporting Emmy for season 4. Lorraine was nominated several times but never won. Nancy should have won the supporting Emmy for season one but didn’t. Michael should have been nominated from the beginning of the series. Instead, they only started nominating him with season three. Dominic was nominated a couple times but didn’t win. Aida was nominated a couple of times but didn’t win. Oddly enough, she wasn’t nominated easily her best season, season two. Yes, despite how acclaimed and popular and groundbreaking the show was it only won two Drama Series Emmys. There was a belief that it would have won much earlier in its run, but a lot of voters were turned off by the violence, and there was a cable network bias back then.

Sopranos was up against West Wing, which was an awesome show, not as good as Sopranos, but was a massive critical darling. The one that hurts is losing to 24. Great adrenaline rush, but come on, it was not in the same league as Sopranos
@liteflightify
@liteflightify Месяц назад
@@biged263835 I’m fine with the loss to 24. Season 5 of 24 is probably the best season of that show. While 6A of The Sopranos has some great episodes I find it to be the most unfulfilling season. The losses to The West Wing are understandable because it had solid ratings, solid acclaim, was an “uplifting” show and was original in its own way. The Sopranos still shouldn’t have loss so many times to it. The loss that’s really lame is the first season losing to such a perfunctory show like The Practice. That loss showed that voters were not ready to fully reward a dark, violent cable show yet. The Sopranos should have won a minimum of 4 times. Unlike with The Wire, voters clearly knew that this show existed and they were aware of its acclaim and how groundbreaking and important it was. It just took them a while to accept that moodier, riskier cable shows were taking over.

Michael Imperioli is the executive producer & narrator of a new 3-part documentary series about the Mafia. It premieres this Sunday night, Aug. 11th, on The History Channel. It starts with Lucky Luciano in the early 1900's & covers the Five Families all the way up to the supposed end of the mob. Lots of archival footage & photos. And I'm hoping they'll also take a look at how the Mafia 's been portrayed in films & TV. Just a heads-up for you & anyone interested. I read an article about it & it sounds really interesting. 🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵

P.S. As far as someone who is a narcissist with a lot of power changing, that is unicorn rare. IMO, most high ranking ranking monsters, presidents, royalty, people with a lot of power...almost always think they are above everyone and think they should get what they want. This is who they are, and I believe it gets worse the older they get. I understand why, they usually always get what they want and rarely face any consequences for their actions.

Hey, GREAT REACTION, as always!!! I want to point something out that is kind of important. We all know Tony as a gangster, narcissist, a killer, and a lot of other things. As far as the women (or girls in a lot of cases) on the side, they are just a distraction from his boring life. He in no way saw any of them as a partner or has any true emotional connection with them, except for maybe Melfi (one-sided though). As for Carmella, even though she never even kissed Furio, she was at the very least infatuated with him, maybe even started to develop a love for him, or at least the idea of the type of relationship she thought he might give her. While Tony has always been a cheater and it was very wrong, at the end of the day, Carmella was still the women he wanted to be with until death do them part. I honestly believe Carmella would've left Tony for Furio in a second if not for kids and consequences. IMO, Carmella's unfaithfulness was very real and more serious than Tony's, but Tony's looks much worse on the surface.
