Well as for the pricing it is really simple, you ask them, "You want the free estimate, or the accurate estimate?" If they say the free one, then you just pick a number up high that you think it will roll in at (Experience will tell you, then you add a little on top for contingency) and if you don't get them, they are usually customers that are more work and harder to get to pay up in the first place, not a loss. Accurate estimate, you know how much it will be, you know the legal fees and you say "Yes, this estimate will cost you X, but gives you the Y ability" (Such as owning the drawings) Usually if they get it up front, you can get a contract down and then you are on much more solid foundation later. For car repairs it is common to pay for the hours of diagnosis, just to tell you what is wrong, and in some cases that can be quite a few hours spent. No garage is going to do that for free, and then the repair costs extra on top of that.
Buying more block moulds should be a priority in the yard, Daniel. Presumably, all of your fleet is equipped with modern location trackers. Watching fancy builds in Dubai is always fun. All the same, I'm glad Ashville is only filming it and not actually on the hook for the construction.
I've just been following your postings for a couple of months and really enjoy watching the work you're doing. The behind the scenes shows how much goes into making the business run in all its sectors. Great to see you expanding your firm and growing it surely and steadily into a major player in your sector. Looking forward to seeing more interesting videos through 2024. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and successful New Year.
Watching this channel motivates me to get up and use every single minute of the working day to make money because ash is always on the move always working always making deals. Hopefully one day every subscriber gets the same drive.
Liebherr reliability on your 20 ton and 14 ton 360 is terrible. I know you like to keep with the same brand but I'm sure it would've been cheap to change manufacturers. The work they do in the yard just get the cheap 360 you can.
Sand for construction in the UAE is a very interesting subject Daniel. Let me assure you, you can certainly sell sand in the UAE and you can do very well from it.
Morning Daniel, All. Glad that you and M. O’Donovan are well. And, Get Well Soon once again to Yianni too. Congrats to Baz on recognition; and Congrats Daniel and to Fox re. Road Transport Ball. In deepest appreciation, Thank You Daniel, and to all, for your hard work re. Ashville, along with all the Ashville Weekly’s. All will be well. Long live Ashville! Take Care Daniel, All😊❤
Hey Dan - RE pricing a job and asking the customer to pay for the initial piece, perhaps offering to take that cost off of their final invoice (should you win the project) would put them at ease.
Please please buy a rigid low loader for moving plant, rather than that roll-on roll-off with its metal wheels, that’s designed for other stuff. Plus…. You’ll be able to get under more bridges!!
Why dont you get more block molds? Isnt it more expensive in labor to keep cleaning the trucks than to just be able to pour more blocks? Seems like it would pay for itself pretty quickly.
Run beads of hard face weld along the edges of your cutting blades on your machines, you can weld it on your new blades before they are fitted, it will double the life of the blades !. Ive seen it done before
Just thinking out loudly, but wouldnt perhaps a rigid flatbed trailer that is tailored for the hook crane help out for transporting taller equipment allowing you to have a stock of larger machines? It could also be used for transportation of bags, pallets, concrete walls etc. We have a couple of those at the company I drive for, funnily enough also sporting mainly black and yellow ish colours, however we also have a semi flatbed to move around the biggest machines we have.
I own a software development agency and have the same issue with clients asking for a free quote. I usually tell them: Before working on it, we know the least about the project. That means, a blind quote is risky. To be able to stay in business, we'd have to price the risk in. Companies that don't do that might not be around to maintain your project; and if it comes to that, you don't usually own the plans (or, in our case, the source code) so it's hard for others to take up the work.
Hi Daniel, in your continuous improvements, plan in fitting double door set up on your accounts office, or in the summer the place will be full of dust. 🤔🤔
I was in building a long time and always thought hardwoods were exactly that wood harder than other woods and softwoods were physically softer than hardwoods, but this is the proper definition, Trees with seeds that are enclosed, such as within a shell or fruit, are categorized as hardwood. In contrast, trees with seeds that are not enclosed are softwood. Additionally, trees with enclosed seeds are known as gymnosperms, while those with unenclosed seeds are called angiosperms.
Daniel what you are doing is ordinary around the water ornament you shouldn't apply a glass fixture, because of the environment you should read what is important how will visitors enjoy what you've created. With everyone reading content we love to watch you work on new Builds share blessings with the little ones involved.Good Work!
@ashville I’m just wondering I had one of your hoodies for about 18 months now. I love this hoodie only time i bought RU-vid merchandise. The Yellow ashville and A on back hood is becoming warned out. Do you do anything to re attach the letters that are peeling off or put new Patch on.
You seem to have a visit from Liebherr weekly, I know construction equipment will not always be reliable but surely you ought to look around the market?
just a thought, wouldnt it be better to put those signs on the side wall at the front facing in the direction that people are driving rather on the back wall. if you get enough of the material in theres a chance it will get in the way of the view.
Why would you not build blocks full time better than the 1 tonne Bulker Bags..how's that going? Question why not extend the sides of the mold blocks another half a metre you would then use less blocks and make the walls quicker?
