Different Qurans: The Quran from the 8th century to today has been so heavily edited because the Quran was most stupidly written without diacritic markings. Each Khalif from the 8th century had their own interpretation. Al Bazzi (786-864), Qnbl (810-904, Warsh (728-812), Qaaluun (737-835), Heeshaam (770-859), Ibn Zkwaan (789-856), Khalaf (767-843), Khallad (835), AlDoori (860), Abu ‘Ali al-Haareth (864), Hafs (708-805) Abu Bakr Sho‘bah Ibn Ayyash (713-809), Al Doori (767-860), Al Susi (874). I’m not Arabic but even I know when you insert Diacritic marks in the wrong place you change the word and meaning. You basically have the Hafs version today (150yrs after Mohammed and from the Kufa region), but why did they ignore all the others when they have 10s of thousands of textual variations between them.

Two companies that come together in a merger are a tawhid. The UAE is a tawhid of Arab states. But one thing singular is not a tawhid. Actually the word tawhid as a noun is not even in the Qur'an you want to pretend has been unchanged. Instead it borrowed the foreign word from Hebrew (or Aramaic) ahad the Arab pronunciation of the Hebrew echad - but the meaning is similar. Genesis 2:24 says that the man and woman come together in marriage to become echad - a unity from the two. The Trinity however is a different echad. In the Trinity it is revealed that in God, there are three distinct personalities and roles revealed. The Trinity is not the formation of a new unity, but is about distinction in God who has always been One in Unity. Jesus is the real mhmd of the original Qur'an before its corruption. He is the only real Praiseworthy One as the book of Revelation reveals, He alone is worthy. I think it has more to do with *why* the Hafs got picked as the reading that became the 1924 Cairo edition, and then later "canonized" as "THE Quran, we've never had another one (or a bunch of other ones), yup, only one Quran, perfectly preserved" by the Saudis, only as recently as "within my lifetime", as a man in his 40s: that was the version favored in the Ottoman Empire. They didn't actually base the 1924 version on any manuscripts, when they compiled it, and the purpose *of* that Quran - standardizing what students would be reading so they stopped contradicting each other in tests based on Quran passages - wasn't to pretend that it was the only one they'd ever had (at least outside of Cairo), that came later after it became very popular, so given the dates for when they'd have been working on that and the fall of the Ottoman Empire - and the fact that every one of those manuscripts was at some point "under the control of the Ottoman Empire" - I'd say it's more likely that the Ottomans just "examined those manuscripts", realized they didn't line up with the Hafs reading that they favored, and "did the typical Islam thing": try to cover up the fact that there was a problem, in a way that manifestly and totally fails to fix the problem, because now you can "just see the clear evidence of them doing that". Modern Muslims follow the same playbook as their forebears.

How many meanings for word camel is in Arabic language...Arabic is quite a sophisticated language but not as complex as greek. It's a case of the longer a language is around the more new words with the same meaning as the original words get invented. Especially words that are used a lot.

That would be interesting to see at some point, this is just showing evidence of updates of ancient and other qirat manuscripts to comply them to the Hafs' reading. John of Damascus reckoned there was a surah of the camel, which had great absurdities according to him, not in the Quran today, unless it got renamed. The hadiths (all suspect though, for reasons Jay and oothers have given) claim Surah 33 was originally as long as Surah 2 Al Baqarah, so has lost 3/4 of its length - would be interesting if there was an original one, if the hadith is true. Surah 53 had the verses that cannot be named, if there are mobs around, according to early Islamic scholars, would be interesting if there is a manuscript with them. The Umayyad and Abbasid regimes were in control in a way not feasible for Christianity (which spread into different political units), so a command to burn might destroy anything. (Surah 53 looks suspect even as it is now though, as the revelation received, an angel encounter in which consideration of Allat, Manat and Uzzah is suggested, is described as "one of the best of his revelations", that phrase and a few others like it, not being deleted.)

In particular here, Jay is showing the ones where existing manuscipts of other qirats (which differ in mostly slight ways), some of them even the earliest, have been inserted into, erased, and written over, to align them with the Hafs reading.
