3;18AM 09.03.23 I’m currently binge watching their live performances until I came across this “Different Time” which I am ignoring for months now(cause I know that it will surely hurt) tho I already heard it once on spotify-and downloaded it, but I never got the courage to listen to it until the end. It refreshes the memory-how hurt I was. I can still remember most of the things we shared- the laughters, the tears, the joy, the pain. As if it was just yesterday. It’s too clear. But I was too young. Story time~~ So I came to know this young man from church. He was introduced to me by my friend but I didn’t actually gave it a deep thought. The day was specially made special because it was my day and there was an activity in church which I am so excited about. I never thought that the little things I saw that day was a sign-maybe. Everything’s still fresh in my mind. Hindi naging kami because of some reasons, but we knew that we are special to each other. We laugh and cry. We talk and we fight sometime. We share good memories, roughly 2 years. But the day has come, I needed to be far. And at that point I didn’t knew yet, that I have this so called ‘sepanx. I developed this anxiety from my childhood. And I am not fully aware during those times that I actually have this kind of illness-how to handle this or basically understanding my situation. So what I do every time I will be separated to someone or if we move places, is to not communicate or even think about them. I cut ties-totally. So I won’t rekindle memories and be hurt. I thought it’s helping me, but I was being selfish. I didn’t know anything about him for 3 years until one of my friends told me that he was studying bible-ministry. I was a bit shaken for a moment. Cause that was my dream, I wanted to be married to someone in ministry. But that was just my thought back then-as a child, cause I want to live near the church. And my best friend suggested that “maybe Ate that is his way to somehow show na sana someday sya naman pangarapin mo” tears fell from my eyes cause I felt that it may be true or maybe I was actually hoping that it was really his reason. And yes, I leave it like that. Just like that. Within my thoughts. Until I graduated- 4 years after we part. We communicate again but we never had the chance or the courage to actually talk about the past. What we just did was to create another memory, we are just happy. We talk a lot. We sent good morning messages first thing in the morning, and I would wait until 11pm onwards before we could actually talk on the phone. But strangely enough, I was contented and happy with our set up. Pero hindi pa rin kami. 5 months later, we barely talk on the phone cause he got busy until the 6th month, we never communicate -again. And I was introduced to a young minister, I have no intentions to get attached to anyone yet cause I am still waiting for someone whom I waited until 11pm everyday just to get to talk for a while before ending the long day we had. But this young minister was so determined to get a reply on the messages he was sending me. Until I got a boyfriend, my very first boyfriend. But I never forget him- the one I loved from afar. The one I loved since I knew love. Sometimes I would ask myself, why? Bakit hindi naging kami. I needed to pursue college so I have to be far. When I graduated, he was still studying. And when he finished his school, I already had a boyfriend. When we meet again, after 7 long years, we are fiancé and fiancée of two beautiful people. We both have our own partners already. Getting ready to be married. We only have 5 meetings after 7 years. And on that 5 chances, we got to muster the courage to talk about the past. It was all misunderstanding. We misunderstood each other’s intentions, feelings and pain. When I thought I already waited enough, he was hoping that I would hold on just a little longer. When I thought it will not be unfair if I let myself open for others, he was finishing up the dreams for us. When we realized that it was already the right time to meet again, we both have our partners whom we promised a lifetime. How ironic life can be. I sometimes wonder how would it turn out if we hold on. If we fight our thoughts. If we didn’t gave up the feelings we just kept. Or what if, we are more honest to our feelings and tell each other what we really felt that time. What if we encourage each other to wait and hold on tight. Or maybe what if, we were born in a different time? But still, I am grateful that I get to say everything that I wanted to tell that person, even if it’s already too late for us. And we already have to close our book.

If all the youth are just responsible to love or of having a relationship, hindi naman pagbabawalan. The leaders of one church just need to protect all the youth na magkaron ng kasalanan that only once happened sa isang pagkakamali ng isang magkarelasyon na nagkamali and because of that some of the churches are really strict when it comes to having a relationship kapag bata pa. I understand my church and my leaders all they want is to protect us. Ika nga “ang pag-ibig ay hindi lang basta emosyon at bugso ng damdamin ito ay isang desisyon.”

I wish we were born on the different time and different situation, where religion and on the eyes of judgmental people are not hindrances on our love :(
