It actually doesn't exit the system tho (except through the gas remover on top). It returns back into the loop with additional air flow from the sparger. So it can be considered a loop.
@Shomu's Biology then accordingly they should differ in one more way right? Bubble column bioreactor is unidirectional while airlift bioreactor is bidirectional involving the nutrient mixture! Will it be wrong to say that?
