OData is the current default way to communicate with an SAP backend, be it for an (SAPUI5) frontend or any other integration scenario. The goal of this document is to get an ABAP developer up and running with understanding and implementing OData services in an SAP ABAP-based backend system.

Hi, it’s very basic needed for one and very much explanatory. Thank you. Can you please upload video of extending these Odata service based on sadl data source or referenced data source?? Which is most needed now for most clients for transaction applications like manage PO or PR.

Hi sir, in Odata CDS reference, how can we make entityset created as searchable true? Because while binding this service in Ui we are not getting any data??

Thank you Anubhav, in CDS based ODATA, I was not able to search any way to write create entityset method or update or delete entityset .. is CDS based ODATA only covers GET entityset ?

You mentioned one advantage of SADL way is that you can combine multiple CDS views into one odata service. But the example you did only had one CDS view. When I try to add another Reference to a second CDS view, SEGW won't allow it, it's grayed out. Are we only allowed one CDS view reference in an odata service in SEGW? If so, then what's the point of doing it this way?

Dear Ramin, when we build Consumption views in S/4HANA, we will have all the underlaying views exposed also as entitysets. Please join our ABAP on HANA Course to get the depth knowledge on VDM models in S/4HANA which will help you to do so.

@@AnubhavOberoy But in this video you are using SEGW to create a Reference to CDS view, and you mention the advantage is you can have multiple References to multiple CDS Views in one service. But SEGW does not allow you to do that, it only allows one Reference to one CDS View.

I would love to have all my CDS views in one SEGW service, but it won't let me.
