You are so much fun! There is no doubt as to the pleasure that you get from crafting and you share that joy. I actually giggle when I watch you and I've learnt so much from you. Thank you for your time and all the lessons you teach. You make crafting so fun and you're one of the people who made me find my pleasure in crafting. Thank you so much. Be blessed and have a great week. You have a fan in me, so feel the wind ! 😂 😂 😂 😂
Love all your ideas. (The first one was a little to busy and made it difficult to read clearly.) I think my favorite was the black background base with the off-set white shadowing. Love to do this layering with dies to give them a pop effect. Will indeed be watching for more videos from you, Laurel!
I really liked the hi with partial embossing also. The partial embossing is a game changer for me thanks. Such a great idea so simple but such a great look
Aw wow these cards are amazing. The first card is particularity pure genius. Every video you produce gives me so many great ideas and gets me creating.
The clay colored Thank you card and the one you stamped a pattern on were my favorites. I have very few word dies because I'm really picky about fonts and also the messages. You had some nice techniques with them though!
The first one seems like a good idea but the result was unreadable. I would have cut the die again and colored it with the blue ink and shadowed the patterned one to ground it. Perhaps with a different pattern, or if it was being used on a solid colored background it would work better.
All of these are great ideas, but I would have used a different stamp and/or ink for the first one. I thought it was difficult to read the word, although maybe in person it wasn't. 😀
Blue and white is a favorite combo of mine , but is too hard to read, especially on a patterned background. Like embossing part of the words, but the two-tone was the best.
Why is that sometimes the obvious....isn't? LOL! LOVE my big word dies and why I never thought to stamp on them is beyond me! Such a wonderful idea... The shaker idea is great as well, even though I don't do shakers often. Thanks!!
those darn tittles! I use a paper punch to make one out of any color I have scraps of, or I have used tiny butterflies that came out of another die I used on another project - the butterfly dresses it up!
Amazing! I am so encouraged by your mistakes and make it, use it, attitude. You have no idea how many so called flops I’ve made then went into brain freeze! Oodles. I have the same bins fir all kinds of things snd try to use them but it TAKES ME FOREVER to figure out what I can do. So hard on myself for these over the top 10,000 card ideas! Whew I’m so glad I found your channel. Oh and I like all the ideas. Maybe a bit partial to the first one. But that’s prob because it’s dramatic black !!!
Wow! Thank you for all these great ideas! Loved them all, but especially the card with black background with holes. Is the black hole part done with a background die? I looked at the links below, but am not sure which link is for that item….
I liked them all.. :) I tried embossing for the first !! Screwed up right off the bat. I inked the stamp, then I poured powder on it.. dah!! Have to Stamp it on paper FIRST.. Had to LAUGH cause I wanted to cry.. second time, did it right. I inked up a couple of numbers I waned to emboss. One number came out ok, not cover completely as i thought it would, but I see your word kinda came out the same way. So I don't feel that bad. But the other number ,didnt stick at all.it just blew powder away. Going to try again later. Thanks for sharing.
@@LaurelBeard thanks for the tip. I dont think the pad was juicy and I just opened it. Do they have re-inkers for embossing ink pads? New to this. I will keep trying. Thanks for replying to me. Have a great day.
All good, but although I liked the principle of the first one but the word was hard to read because the stamping was so strong; perhaps better in a lighter or less fussy design
Videos take time, effort, and money to produce. By having sponsors, cardmakers can continue to make free content for us. I am happy when I see a crafter doing well enough making videos that an outside company thinks they are worth sponsoring.
If you can't watch a 30 second sponsor in the middle of a video that I worked hard to make, then you are welcome to Unfollow. And I am anything but unprofessional thank you very much.
for some reasone i write good poetry when i watch your videos miss. i hope you don't get offended by them. You have a good personality. i need more help on that.
Ok I’m confused, when you inked up the actual thinking of you die how did you get it to cut out with the ink on it??? Know you didn’t use the di3 itself to put on the card?? Lol am I dumb?
OMG Laurel ....You sure did come up with cool, clever and creative ideas for ways to created with our word dies and YES I am loads of word dies!! I so can't wait to play around using your Brilliant ideas and it truly does multiply what we have because now they are way more than JUST a word die!! Each of your creations is Spectacular and must say you never cease to amaze and it all comes from you having and idea and seeing what come of it so YAY us we get to see your so called dreams come true...sooooooooooooooo Thanks for your Outstanding Tutorial and sharing your tremendously terrific tips, tricks & Techniques!! YOU SO ROCk!! Joan Smith
My favorite card was the black thank you. My favorite comment was about not being a confident sequin placer. That's me! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.
I love these cards! I like ink dragging, I use it on embossed layers. My experience with shaker cards is liquid glue will not be permanent on acetate, it comes apart. I recommend using double sided adhesive.
I really enjoyed watching the different ways that you used the word dies and I'm looking forward to trying some of them out!! It would be nice to already have some card fronts and/or word dies already cut out and ready to use. I think your favorite was my favorite also! That is a great idea to not poke out all of the small pieces and get a totally different look! You know, instead of cutting & stacking your word die 5 or 6 times, I use fun foam and remove the sticky part and put some sticker paper on it. Then, I cut the fun foam and the word die in the desired colors. That way if you can see any of the edges, the colors are the same. ( If you do not have the matching foam, use whatever color you have and then take a marker and color the edges of the foam in case they can be seen.) Then, adhere the colored cardstock to the foam and you have your diecut word in a Thicker foam. I use this method alot with my alphabet dies when making my titles and essentially making my own Thickers and love it!! I hope that this all makes sense!
Laurel, thank you for this, have lots of word dies, time to have me some fun, oh ya. TfsPS,just went to the CP site and ordered that Mandela stamp and die, and a bunch of other things thru your link, do I need it, heck no, but it sure will be fun having it.
So with the embossing powder on the word die- I did the same technique on the numbers 7 and 5 for my dad's 75th birthday party. I found that if you dip the word or number into the powder really fast, while it is still hot, you can get another layer of powder without using embossing ink again. I did about 5-7 layers, and the edges got really cool looking and curved over.
