After painstakingly laying 12" blocks course after course in an attempt to build our 13x28 safe room over the span of a week, we woke up the following morning to our beloved family cat Binx struggling. Binx and Chuck were our last connections to our previously life, part of our family and a difficult loss for us to take. Today we remember them both, lay Binx to rest and take the day to work together around our farm as a family. A day of calm and connection before we turn our attention back to the A-Frame cabin addition build.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

I read a plaque at a animal shelter it said. " To be loved by a dog is to be expected. But to be loved by a cat is a privilege. Something along those lines. RIP Binx 😢❤

They're just pets we tell ourselves. Then something happens and we realize they are our charge, our children. We find they are our children's best friends. They are a part of our heart. Maybe life goes on, but the pause when they leave feels like it won't. My heart goes out to the children and you and Josh.

After a good life with "Mom and Dad" and of course, the kids, Binx is "sleeping" with, no doubt, great memories of family, wonderful stalking on the property and at least ONE POUNCE on Chuck. Now they are together and watching their family build and grow together, missing you too. All the best to you all.

We recently lost one of our 3 furbabies. My husband, God bless his heart, cried non stop for 2 days. Literally broke my heart and cried right along with him. 😥

So sorry for your loss. Know the feeling. Had 2 dogs and 2 cats. Dog passed suddenly. Few months later fixing house to move lost a cat. Once moved in 2 months later lost other cat and 4 months later lost last dog. Our heart goes out for you all!

We recently lost Brandy and we put Mums on her grave. This brought tears to our eyes but it also brings back so many memories. Sorry for your loss. It brings things into perceptive for the children as well as the adults. Life is precious. Every moment is an opportunity to make memories that will endure. Hello, Josh & Erin and the kids. I am an old lady that started watching during the beginning of the pandemic, I just learned how to subscribe to your channel, I'm not very Tech experienced. Sorry it took me so long. I just want you to know that your videos have made a very difficult time in our lives so much easier for this old lady. I have enjoyed watching your children grow, and seeing you two laugh and joke thru some pretty hard times for your family. The diligence and perserverance you both have to building a strong healthy family is lacking in a lot of our society today, it is refreshing to see that you are keeping values alive, and are not afraid of some hard work. My grandparents built their own home from scratch like you are doing and raised 8 sons & 5 daughters on that land up i Ohio in the war years of the 1940s. Keep up the GREAT work, and someday I hope to visit your Cafe before I leave this world.

So sorry about Binx it's heartbreaking...I just had to cross my cat over the rainbow bridge Friday, Little Red was only 9 years old....she was my world and I loved her with every fiber of my being. Such unconditional love.... I feel your loss, they are with us always. 🙏♥️😢

I have a Black cat name Coco as you can see as my page character. He has the same white spot on his chest that your Beloved Binx's has. I remember back when Binx was attack by a coyote a while back and she was able to rebound due to your diligence and taking her to the vet. She has gone through a lot. I hope her passing was due to her old age. I am truly sorry for your lost. The empathy your family has fort animals is why I love watching you guys' every week for a couple of years now. Losing a pet is so very difficult. IIRC, Binx is the cat that was mauled by the coyote. Hugs are sent from Utah. 😿🐾🐾 I just love Ellie's laugh. Another IIRC, she is turning six this month.

I feel this intensely. I have the cat that was alive when my mother was alive. She named her Annie as an orphan Annie because she was found in a shopping cart. She is older than my children who are 16 now. Once she passes, she will have been the last pet link to my mother who passed before the twins were a year old. 😢. Rest easy Binx

RIP Binx. Good dog. Our cat Maggie had been with us for my son's entire life when she was hit by a car and killed when my son was 13 years old. A week later we moved into our first house without her 😭. We went all that time and lost her right before that big milestone. My son is 29 now. Ellie is losing her "baby" face. It's amazing how fast kids grow. 😭

So sorry for your loss of Binx. It never gets any easier as our pets are such an integral part of our lives and we share so much with them. It was so fun when Dexter showed up and got even better when Ellie was playing and laughing so hard with Dexter. Ellie is getting so big, it's been nice watching the kids gorow over the years.
