Great work as always! I learn a lot watching your work with the backhoe, even though i own and operate a 5 ton mini excavator. Thank you, i wish you the best!
Well if it was a mini x or one with a blade about the only way I know would be turn sideways and use the blade to level the machine, however every time you had to advance it would be a pain. Other way as you mentioned throw dirt under the tracks. Backhoe shines in these type applications for sure.
Well, I didn't hear of a major power outage in OK City, so you must have done good. Lol. As far as setting up an excavator on something like that, it's not an issue as long as it has a push blade on it. I just worry about getting leveled up left to right so I can dig a flat bottom. The biggest issue if you want to call it that is, it takes more times maneuvering into digging positions, depending on how far you can reach with the buscket. I dig on some pretty steep slopes sometimes, and so far, no problems. You just always keep the blade downhill so you can level up. You dug them boys a pretty footing Mr. Frank.
@@blackdogexcavator21 the blade does make sense, just seems they are limited. Probably my lack of experience with them, but I like the backhoe. Just works well for me. Thanks for watching!
@@davidphillips6571 I was referring to the slope, getting the machine level. Not saying it could not be done with an excavator. Just asking how to set one up on a 3 to 1 slope. I understand the blade can help level the machine, but in my experience, not that much.
A backhoe can use it's stabilizers to leavel the machine but an excavator doesn't have stabilizers to level the machine so you have to come up with different ways to level the machine making a job like this better for a backhoe than a mini x
