Today at the property I was able to get some footage of digging for the foundation of our house. The house is going to be 40’ wide by 30’ deep and for room to work along with room for the installation of drainage around the foundation, the hole was dug approximately 46’x36’ and 8’ deep. This is a lot of material to remove to begin with, but with the amount of rock and number of larger rocks, the digging took a bit longer than expected. He was however, able to complete the digging and and most of the prep for concrete. A final touch up and compaction will will take place once we get definitive notice from the concrete contractor. The septic tank was also dug for and set this week completing a good majority of the grading work for our home. The only remaining work that’s part of our grading plan is to finish the trenching for the electric lines, septic lines and digging for the burial of a 500 gallon propane tank, all of which we’ll discuss in a future video.
