Polygraph tests are not reliable lie detection. They “detect” nerves and other bio signs. They are not used in criminal court because they are scientifically unproven. Notorious liars and sociopaths easily passed polygraphs, while innocent but sweaty or nervous people fail. It’s used in shows like this one because it builds tension, but you can tell even the judges won’t fully condemn someone for the results, they wait to see the reaction, and then they speak.
