Actually these are not a dead pixels, it's just stuck pixels caused by the lens machanism of the PowerShot G series, you only have to clean up the sensor, but this step require a technician or at least a basic knowledge in handling high tech electronics like these amazing cameras.
@@somephotovideos Sorry, I just noticed your comment. Here's a neat demonstration of the Canon PowerShot G series' sensor cleaning process. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-edOuc9SZKRk.html
In only a handful of videos, you've managed to nail the precise audio/visual aesthetic that I truly enjoy. The photos - combined with video from the same session - are neatly paired with a beautiful, unpretentious soundtrack to bind it all up in a nicely wrapped package. The lack of an unnecessary voice-over to distract the viewers is the icing on the cake. You're off to an impressive start. I wait in anticipation of your next upload.
Thank you! I've been watching photography RU-vid for quite a while and as I've immersed myself more and more into the craft I've always felt there was a specific kind of RU-vid photography video that was missing. I found myself loving channels like Willem Verbeek's and grainydays and many others but there were certain times where I just wanted to look at the photo and video elements of their videos without voice over or their commentary - I just wanted to kind of disappear into some other place, a tone, a vibe, whatever you want to call it. So I decided to make the exact type of videos that I wanted to see from other photography RU-vidrs, and your comment is immensely validating and goes such a long way to encourage me that I might be on to something. Thanks for being a part of the channel 🤘
I dig all the channels you've mentioned here as well, plus the ones on your channel profile. You're on the right path, as far as I am concerned. Good luck.
I concur. It’s the type video you sit down on your couch, turn on the largest TV you have, and simple immerse yourself into it. His vibe takes you there. Very well executed.
@JonathanCWard Yes! That’s exactly what I’m going for with these videos, and I’m glad that’s resonating with certain viewers. View durations on my videos are abysmal because most viewed I think are expecting someone to speak to camera and talk about the photos and the camera and when it’s apparent that’s not going to happen they stop watching. Maybe eventual I’ll make some videos where I speak to camera and do some voiceovers… 🤷♂️
So glad to hear this delivered on the feels. Pretty amazing what you can do with an old digicam when taking photos in a 5 block radius. Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Really, really appreciate you saying so. And yes, it’s very intentional to create content that’s about my work as well as what these cameras are capable of… I love photography channels that feature the artist and their thoughts/commentary but there are times when I just want to vibe out and disappear into someone’s work. Excited to have you here!
Are you shooting with it at all? If not, you might want to dust it off and take it for a spin. I've really enjoyed shooting with mine - got another vid with it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gIDYQpuBu-c.html
oh my, I got lost in your videos, watching one by one. This channel is such a hidden gem, really, an exceptional work, truly unique vibe and sensitivity, love it! One question though, if You were about to choose between Canon G9 with CCD sensor, making RAW files (found it for 115$) and a SX230HS with CMOS sensor and no RAW files (60$), which one would You go for? :)
Thanks for the kind words! So glad you're enjoying the videos. I love making them and can't wait to get the next one completed. My gut instinct is go with the G9. I really love my G11 and if someone made me choose between it and the SX230HS, I'd go with the G11. Let me know what you decide! And feel free to share the channel. You've given quite the testimonial 🙌❤️
I recently got one of these from my cousin after he found it cleaning at his dad's house. I have to get a new battery for it to check if it even works, but hopefully it does because it takes some amazing looking images for it's age.
Congrats on the new camera and hoping it’s another survivor. There’s some real magic in this old CCD sensors. Grateful to have mine. Hoping yours will still work fine - let me know if it does.
@@somephotovideos Got my new battery for the camera and it still works! Has 2 small scratches on the lens, which is a bummer, but they can always be edited out of the photos. Can't wait to put it to some use.
@@itscodebaby Awesome! Good ol' Canon! And I just uploaded my next video that shows some more street photography in Omaha with my G11 (it'll post later tonight).
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for subscribing. I shot this with my Canon EOS R and a Canon 24-105mm F/4 L IS USM lens with a Tiffen 1/8 Black Pro Mist filter on it. I put a lot of the info for the videos in the end credits.
@@somephotovideos thank you, great results... i am about to buy G12 or S95, confused which one to choose)... looks like they are similar, only formfactor and lens difference + shoe
They are all listed in the end credits👌All available here: www.trackclub.com But also be aware that each song has been modified using Track Club’s Mix Lab feature. I strip out most of the instruments to customize the songs so that they’re, well, what they are. A vibe, I guess.
With street photography it can be difficult to achieve tack sharp focus because things are typically moving very quickly, and I use range focusing combined with a high aperture - f/8 is the highest aperture with the G11 - so that can leave some parts of the image a bit soft. And just to be clear - range focusing is a technique not a feature with this camera. While it does have auto-focus I tend to rely on manual focus to make sure I can take a picture as quickly as possible.
Not at the moment, but I hope to figure out something like that eventually. For now I've been using the RNI app for iPhone & iPad to add a Kodak Portra 400 film emulation to my photos. I reduce the strength quite a bit to make it very subtle and then edit all the standard stuff like contrast, shadows, color temperature, etc. Check out Really Nice Images here: reallyniceimages.com
Not yet! But hoping to cover a lot of small towns and even Lincoln in the coming months. Starting with Omaha and its neighborhoods (as well as other places I travel to for work or fun). Plenty more videos coming!
Thanks! Be sure to test it for dead pixels. Mine has a whole bunch of them. You can easily see them in a few of the darkest photos. Also…you’re my first comment EVER on this channel ! Thanks!
I just bought it yestarday i hope works properly, its supoused mint condition in open box and original case i will let you know how as it. Saludos desde Durango, México. Great channel 😎👍🏼
stop calling it digicam please. Digicam is made for any normal fellas, professional point and shoot instead, made for professional or at least someone who is dead serious in Photography
