Appreciate the video. Years of doing music and engineering and I'm always learning something new. I love Control 24's. Theres nothing like putting your hands and fingers on dials and feeling the mix. Can't wait to finally get one of my own.
Thanks Toiya, I’m using a control 24 with the mbox 2, I’m using ChatGPT to help me also but was wondering if you’d let Me know. I was given a control 24 in a argosy desk a Mac Pro and two HD cards but I’ve been using the Le system clocked to an apogee clock. Do you think it’s work getting the HD system up and running or am I fine with the LE system, I try to minimize my track counts to 32 tracks as a max. I don’t like mixing heavy sessions. I create worship w lots of guitar and bass work. I appreciate you create for the Lord, thanks again for any info. Blessings 😂
Just purchased two Mac Pro's and upgraded both to dual 6 cores and 128 gb ram. One will be on OSX Mountain lion and has a HD3 card system in it. The other will get a avid hd native card. That one will either be at catalina or at Sonoma. So I will use the digi control24 together with either PT10HD and or the new Protools over a HD native. The control24 connected up to two digi192 converters.
Thinking of moving into a control 24 or the other c24 but ive been comfortable with PT studio 23.9 what would i need to keep current versions of PT and also intergrate the console into my workflow I see that you run a mac studio so your current im currently using uad interface apollo 16? Any help would be dope ty
Thanks for the content! Question, would this work for Pro Tools 2023.9? I already have the control 24 but my old Mac Pro is dying so I’m thinking of going Mac Studio M1 and using HD Native Thunderbolt for my Apogee Rosetta 800’s. Thanks!
Good evening, I bought a control 24 here, and I'm in doubt about the connection to the reference monitors, does it leave db25 from the table and enter p10 on the monitors? and how many monitor outputs come out of the db25?
What interface are you running the 25 pin connectors too? someone has a control 24 for 200 near me, trying to figure out everything I need to use the preamps on this.
Are you using a third party software to make your control 24 work with pro tools ? I have version 12 , 2018 and needs third party software to use it with pro tools, I haven't done it yet and miss using my control 24 so much. ❤
There’s not much reason to actually run audio through it. It’s best to think of a Control 24 as a giant 88 lb. mouse for your DAW (via Neyrinck’s V-Control software). A used one in decent condition is a great value as a control surface. I just bought one to run Logic from my M2 MBA. The faders are very high quality and 10x quieter in operation than newer lower-end options. They are easy to replace if they go bad and aren’t too expensive. The meter bridge is fast and responsive. And it just looks cool in operation. It did take me over four HOURS to scrub that gummy coating off the palm rest and sides, though. A soft plastic scraper and nearly an entire spray bottle of Goo-Gone later, and it looks good. I’ve been following up with many, many coats of ArmorAll to seal up those plastic pieces and protect them from any more oxidation. This is a design flaw that EVERY Control 24 suffers from, so just know that going in. The only other issue is that the power supplies can give out if the thing is left on for many hours (10+/day) for years. Used recapped power supplies are about $300-400 right now. Might be wise to have a spare on hand to swap out if your current one goes kaput. That way you can keep working and send the fried one out to be fixed and recapped. Other than those issues, they’re gorgeous, built like tanks, and could probably be kept running for another two decades.
