This is not intended to be a tutorial, it's just me trying to learn new skills and make videos about the process. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated, but please be kind and polite.
I found this digivice in a box with toys from my childhood and decided to give it a try. First, I had to check why it wouldn't turn on and when I opened the digivice, I found a dead capacitor that could be causing the issue. So, I cleaned the board with isopropyl alcohol to make sure there was no dirt causing any problems, and replaced the capacitor with a new one. When I reassembled it, although it finally turned on, the display was not working as it should. The first thing I did was to try this method: • Digivice Diary - Fixin... but it didn't work for me, so I reopened the digivice and tried to give the display a proper cleaning this time. When I got everything working, I simply cleaned all the plastic parts with soapy water and removed any remaining water with a blower (like the one used to clean camera lenses). Some parts still had the stickers on them in good shape, so I cleaned them separately. The only thing I couldn't fix was the screen paper, I don't know what material it's made of so I could replace it with a new one. If anyone knows, I'd be happy to hear from you so I can finish this project!
If you've made it this far, thanks for giving me a chance and I hope you enjoyed the video. See you next time!
