I like Davis but there's a lot you can miss in a search there. I like to use the st15 tai kamiya for the dp boost on block, draw, and opening up for black options (I use trident arm specifically, helps get around on deletion effects)
Why not play Heaven's Judgement? This IS a control variant after all. And, sure, it costs 7, but the payoff is worth it. Bare minimum, you have -18k reduction available to you, and you can choose to distribute it however you want.
