I'm 32 years old now. Remember back there when I was 4grade elementary school, I loved digimon so much. My dad bought me an agumon toy but few days later. He passed away. But I still keep my agumon till now. When I listening this song always make me cry. I miss him so much. Digimon will always have a place in my life

I discovered Digimon as Fusion was airing, started watching the entire shows late last year, currently on a re-watch of Fusion (great references and cameos), seen up to the Tamers movies, Tamers and Fusion are tied for first, Rika is my favourite.
I had never watched the original Japanese Adventure until a few years ago, and barely knew this song. Now, despite only having it in my life for such a short amount of time, Butter-Fly is already so intensely powerful and nostalgic. I hope Wada-san knows the impact he's made on the world, even years after he left. Happy Odaiba Day.
I watched Digimon with spanish dub (the voices are in spanish, but the songs, thank god, are the same as in the japanese version) and this song, along many others, is pure nostalgia and always makes me chill. Idk if the same happens to you with the (I guess, sorry if not) american dub, personally way worse but of course it is since it's not the one I watched. Have a nice day, and thanks, Wada-san!
@@CrystavEXPAh, so the Spanish version kept the songs the same. The German dub even went for German covers of the songs, and they are just wonderful and give that same nostalgic feeling and are absolute anime-song classics in the German community, especially Butter-Fly, or "Leb' deinen Traum" (eng. "live your dream"), as the German version is called.
@@Max_G4 The Spanish version also covered the original song (Both Latin American and European Spanish did), the other comment must've meant they didn't change it to completely new songs. Actually, your description of the german version of the song is quite similar to the spanish ones, where they are one of the most beloved anime classics in their respective communities.
Been listening Anime theme songs dated back as early as the 70's for the last 35 yrs. Butterfly is one of the rarest gems that continue to shine through regardless how long it has passed.

Reusable characters were before Digimon :P But i dont think u need very original characters to attract a child xD it was so easy to relate with the personalities of the main characters cause they were simple, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The digimon trait were focused on adding a bit of humor, with their hunger, ignorance and bad jokes xD for a child, keeping it simple isnt a bad thing at all. At that age, we didnt saw anything like digimon anyway xD Some would say pokemon was the same, but while pokemon was a story about a child who LEFT HIS HOME to live an adventure in a wonderful world, Digimon was a story about a group of childs who WERE KIDNAPPED into a terrible world and had to live an adventure in order to survive and find their way back home, i'd say they'r totally different xD Digimon was the first isekai i ever saw xD
This is when internet doesn't exist, I rushed to go home from school just to see Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Power Rangers Wild force, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon. 😅
As a 26 year old and finished watching all of the main series and movies, it made me feel like a kid again. To think something like this was made when I was a child and only knew about it vaguely until last year. This song will always be treasured, thank you Koji Wada for being awesome. Actually it was first ever anime which i had watched on the television since my childhood. Still watching this show over and over again when i was boring. Opening song and Digimon Evolution song really gave me goosebumps everytime i watched. Proud to be one of the Digimon fans and i will still remember beautiful moments in my childhood along with this masterpiece. Let's shinka!!!
38 here. Digimon got me out of my Pokemon obsession when i was 11 or 12. The fact that it actually had a real plot just hooked me, and the plot itself reeled me in. Been a fan ever since. 😊 Just got Discotek Media's bluray release in the mail from rightstuf, and life is good. It's even the Japanese version of the show. 😊

I'm still in my teens, but Digimon took a bit to grow on me cause I was a huge Pokemon fan. Picked up Cyber Sleuth a couple days before the New Year, and I fell in love with the franchise more than I expected. All the music including this song feel inspiring to me. Thank you, Digimon! And rest in peace, Koji Wada.
I really wish there was a good, legal way to own Adventure and for that matter all of the other series in sub form. I love the dub but I would really love having the option.
@@jamespuso1627 Yep I remember, it was the same time they got the dubs for Adventure, 02 and Tamers but at some point they let the rights lapse or something which is a shame.

Yeah, i had to watch Tamers on latin spanish and it is really weird. It is a good dub for the important parts of the series but.... It says a lot of stuff that kinda makes no sense in other languages and in many spanish variants

This is an iconic song to me when I first watched Digimon back in 2011-2013 though sadly I don't remember the song anymore I still remember the great feelings I had when I finished it. Props to the singer, the producer, and everyone who made such a good story.
Japanese animes got the best opening ever! This one gives me chills everytime I listen to it no matter what era it is..because of that opening I watched the whole anime in the original version. Real gem. RIP Wada Kouji😢

Digimon to me would remain the most realistic closer to the real world anime ever. Loved it as a kid, love it as a grown up software engineer of 29yr old since it all makes sense.

Indeed but in 1999, I was still thinking that the Pokemon anime was superior to Digimon. It took me a year or two to realize that Digimon was the superior anime. Pokemon overall imo is still the superior series because of its legendary games but the main anime sucks balls.
Im only 15, but digimon was my life growing up. No cover hits the same as this. I always miss hearing this version from the subs. It makes me happy and nostalgic hearing the song
I'm 33 and this song is on my playlist for my formal PhD defence at the university, along with Brave Heart, One Vision and The Biggest Dreamer from Tamers. It's to appreciate and preserve your childhood memories.
I only discovered the original digimon series this year. I always was a fan of the series, albeit I’d been a bigger pokemon fan my whole life (as you may see from my username) but as soon as I heard this song I actually fell in love with it. It’s one of the only songs I go out of my way to listen to on it’s own, not in the background while I’m doing something else. It actually makes me cry when listening to the whole thing, so it’s definitely not nostalgia that makes this song so popular, doubters (if there are any). I’m sure if I found this series and this song when I was a child, I’d be obsessed with digimon. I’m jealous of everyone who grew up with this show and this masterpiece of a song.

germany kinda did. we got our own version but its based on the original. i would reconmend listening to it even though you probably wont understand because its as awesome as the original. its called leb deinen traum if you are interested.
