Digimon's First Special Set! Opening EX01 Classic Collection! 

You had to have grown up with the original artwork to really appreciate it. I love it.

I love the og designs. I still have the original starter deck from digimon. This set when it comes out is gonna hit me with some huge nostalgia.

The art of this set was the only reason I bought any Digimon cards. I still have some of my digi-battle cards for the same reason: the art is just so feral. The designs were compact and the colours explode. They're bloody brilliant. Classic Pokémon was the same. They really emphasised the monster part of the pocket/digital monster moniker. It is a shame about the effects, though. Could have been stronger on the Kabuterimon/Garurumon lines. Plus we never got Vikemon.

The commentary for this unboxing was too hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the video. I will be buying singles for this set and mainly looking for Analog Youth. I completed my Jesmon deck this week and I got to playtest with it. The deck is bricky, but still fun. I'm looking forward to the future support in the next upcoming sets.

I'm new to Digimon and your videos and explanations have been very helpful. I don't get the nostalgia from these cards, but those alt arts are really nice. Now that my son and I have a fair understanding of the gameplay, we are really starting to enjoy it. Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos. Coming from the Pokemon world, this is all a welcome change.

Love seeing this. Great pulls. The alt art background does look great. It is off putting seeing the scary 80s looking artwork on some of these digimon though.

I totally agree with you! Modern art looks much better, but this set contains nostalgic/OG art back in the year 2000 when upper deck released the first Digimon Card Game. This set is like the base set 2 of Pokemon as all the art are over 20+ years ago, but reprinted into the modern Bandai Digimon Card Game.

I like the old art. It can come off as lazy by the company but I like it sometimes.

i love the og art, and i just bought the same box and it will arrive soon, bought it for the art, and reminded me of my old digimon card that i collected. i use the og art to learn to draw too, the same with the og pokemon art.

I used to love digimon as a kid, so awesome seeing the analog youth card, digimon world 1 was my go to back then.

Nice pull with Machinedramon! The Analog Youth alt goes for a little bit more here, it's crazy how expensive an alt of a rare can be, but it's extremely playable in all colours and the art is gorgeous so it's understandable.

I like your vibe and videos! I’d like to suggest using a blank table to show cards. The screen was busy and it was hard to tell the cards from the background sometimes. Definitely trying that tea you suggested!

Hi, I got really lucky and pulled the 2 machinedramon cards. Do you think the value will raise over time or drop? I don't really like the alt art (the most expensive one) So I'm doubting if I should sell it now or hold the card.

Ah when i remember those old cards. That style. Yes i do like a lot the new cards. But this brings back memories. Sure the style may look old especially to new generation of players and collectors but to us little older ones this was the thing!.

This is the classic collection with the classic art, Im not as much of a fan of digimon as i used to be but i love this art because its the original card art, you cant knock it like its a new thing they are trying.

I love TCGs and I bought some cards from the original game back in 1999. I wasn't a fan of the art back then. I didn't follow Digimon since then and I expected this game to still look like that. If it had I wouldn't have been interested. I really like the new art style. I'm glad this is a just a special set. :)

Im switching from Pokemon to Digimon, I love the quality and Artwork so much more. It also gives you decent hits compared to Pokemon which I love. I've been getting screwed with Pokemon Pull rates which is why I am leaving the Pokemon scene.

My lord, I'm a kid again, opening up those old booster packs from my LGS and adoring the more grotesque "monstrous" and bestial artwork that defined early Digimon and Pokemon.

i love how wonky the old designs are. i love how polished the digimon look nowadays but im excited for the grossness/hard lines the old art had. they feel like old incorrect depictions of dinosaurs or other animals. like the translation from the digital world wasnt perfect so its just slightly off. and honestly i think i just like the character of the art great pulls tho its pretty sick

Strawberry, I quite agree that a lot of these cards are ugly. But for something like the Agumon of the set, it's somewhat of the charm. Very good video. (This'll sound weird, but I think you have cute hands.) Still watching the video. I'm looking forward to when this set releases in America.

0_0 Trigged my Wizardmon PTSD T.T I cannot be the only one with this issue. As for the art, yah it was the 90's. Digimon was created to appeal to boys because Tamagotchi was favored by girls. The designs are meant to look tough and rough. The gimmick of Digimon was they where cooler Tamagotchi who could fight. A little harsh on poor Gomamon, considering his OG sprite he worked hard to get to that artwork XD Still to each their own. When we eventually get this set across the pond I'm thinking of creating an alt. mini set with some of the old cards i have matching up to these new versions. Might be cool. Cannot wait for EX02 though ^.^
