Bro let me just say how crazy it is that you list all of the battery life stats that the game will use. That's incredible and something I haven't or very rarely have seen before. Great work dude.
For the grinding aspect you can leave Digimon on the farm and just put your switch to sleep and time will continue to progress and they will gain levels and etc.
Jamir Connelly the only thing to keep in mind is if you want to do actually training you have to check in on it and tell them to start a new course, but otherwise just stick whoever you want in the farm (don’t leave the farm menu or anything open) and just hit the power button to put your switch to sleep, your play time will also continue to go up.
Once you need serious levels, the best thing to do is raise a platinum digimon and give them tactician usbs. They have 999 defense from lv1, and a party skill that massively boosts experience gained. Using them later on, you can get around 200k exp a fight, letting you level digimon absurdly quickly. The farm is nice for passive exp but it will take a really really long time to reach the higher points.
I have 30 hours into the first one it’s not bad at all but I have put almost 200 hours by leaving my switch on so my digimon can go to max level I have about 15 mega level and I am in chapter 7😂😂
Yea...kinda bought the games 5 times too, cyber sleuth for psp and PS4, Hackers Memory for PS4 twice cause I lost it once, and complete edition for switch, so I beat the games 5 times in total completed the field guide beat the after game(s) as well, so, when digimon survive comes out late 2020 can't wait to play that!
Regarding what you said in the beginning, nostalgia is often used for cheap profit by companies but it's true that our childhood and youngster series and heroes stay with us forever. It's comforting to rewatch some old episodes or arcs from old shows and, in the best case scenario, they remind us who we are, who we were and our journey from then to now. Thanks for the review, it helped me make a decision.
My son is a digimon fan and we just re(discovered) this game. He's loving it. Especially how content poor pokemon sword/shield was. This will be a great game to play into the beginning of summer or during this covid crisis
How is Pokemon Sword? For a kid who's never played the others? This is a lie LOL. Sword as just as much as the previous games; it was a disappointment because it was nothing more than that and took away a *few* things that had little do with "content" game-length wise.
@@VentraleStar Comparing it to the 3DS games, Sword and Shield did have about the same amount of content. But it had less content then some of the DS games. For example, you could unlock most of the Kanto region in Heartgold and Soulsilver.
@@oklahomacitybassfishing405 As far as I know, there are only 3 games. The 2 Cyber Sleuth games, and Next Order. I've completed and loved the Cyber Sleuth games, but I haven't played Next Order even though I own it.
@Cbg G I honestly find the grind pretty fair once you understand how to do it. Really shouldn't get too concerned about it until toward the end of the game, then you're safe to buckle-down. Like in pokemon, there are tricks to make things a lot more efficient. I was able to pound out some personal favourites at lv99 with maximum Abi and good skills within a couple days, just making sure I used PlatinumNumemon as party leads and hit the right areas. The ability to auto battle and auto-summon encounters at will make it a pretty mindless experience, really I just did it while I also did other things.
Hackers Memory is probably my favorite of the 2 because the characters in Hudie are more likeable. Especially Erika and Chitose. But both are solid games and to be honest if you get the Platinum Digimon for training and find a good spot the grinding time goes by really quickly.
Erika for life, Keisuke is a better protagonist than aiba for sure, if you play it on pc you can play it at 1440p and 4k that makes the game super sharp.
These are definitely worth it especially for digimon fans, I really like how they took a different approach w/ the story in these games despite them taking place in the same universe which I also found cool

Interesting video, I've been thinking about getting this for the Switch. My only question is if there's a certain order to play the games, like do you play Hackers Memory first then Cyber Sleuth, or does it even matter?

i bought this game for my switch like 2 years ago and played it for about 20 hours and just could not get into. i decided to give it another try a week ago and i’m close to 80 hours at chapter 9 (i’ve been grinding and item hunting and stuff) now and OBSESSED. i think i chose the wrong starter digimon in my first attempt and it just made the pace/difficulty completely different from what i am experiencing in this playthrough. i enjoy games with grinding (the repetition is calming and just does it for me plus the reward after the work is worth it for me). there are a lot of great guides out there to help you through and the cyber sleuth subreddit is a treasure trove of information. platinumsukamon/numemon and some tactician usb’s help greatly with the tedium of grinding for those who get bored easily!
Yes, you can nickname everyone you put in your party. And it does have similarities to Pokemon so some things will be familiar. The ABI stat with evolutions is kind of like EVs and vitamins in Pokemon and a lot of the story battles are like Trainer Battles with NPCs using Digimon Teams against yours. The combat system just uses more skill aspects than just elemental weaknesses. Like piercing that ignores defense and a wider array of status ailment types. And all battles are group battles instead of 1v1.
I would say yes. I got this game instead of sword and shield and wasn't disappointed. I think you'll find the more mature storyline refreshing after the non-stories of the main series games.
@@porters.5811 Personally, I didn't think SwSh was as bad as people were making it out to be, but these 2 games are no doubt much better than any main series pokemon game since gen 6 and definitely more in tune with their demographic.
@@Reviews2Go Long-time fan of the pokemon and digimon games here and i really gotta disagree with you guys there. First of, the pokemon games definetely require more skill, at least when it comes to PVP. Pokemon has evolved way beyond just elemental weaknesses.. there's weather, hazards, terrain, attack priority, buffs, debuffs, status inflictions, passive abilities, equipment... The first four of those are completely absent from digimon. Secondly, digimon does a bad job at telling you how strong you're supposed to be in an area. While in pokemon you can easily tell by looking at your own and your opponents level, Digimon never tells you the level of your opponent. As a result you'll often be either way too overleveled or underleveled for a boss fight. You won't notice beforehand, cause you'll usually only need 1 or 2 hits to defeat the random encounters on your way regardless. Third of all, 90% of all attacks in the cyber sleuth games are just recycled attacks of another element, meaning there's almost no variety. Fourth, a lot of boss fights won't actually be against Digimon, but so called Eaters. Basically their equivalent of an Ultra Beast, except you can't own them. And at last.. i've never seen any NPCs as annoying as the occult club except for Hop, Leon and Team Yell in Sword and Shield and Hau and Team Skull in Sun and Moon. Who the heck thought it was a good idea to put them in both games? The cyber sleuth games are definetely not good games to start your digimon journey with and i'd even call them mediocre at best, just like the Generation 7 and 8 pokemon games. Good games to start with are the Digimon World games for Nintendo DS or Digimon World Next Order on PS4 in my opinion
@@LS-gc8bj Unless you play in hard mode the difficulty curve is never an issue, these games aren't really hard. Even in boss fights. It's just that Pokemon is piss easy. As for the thing with attacks, this happens with Pokemon a lot too, and with shin megami tensei(a series that visibly influenced cyber sleuth) although to an admittedly smaller extent. And there's quite a lot of signature attacks in this game, which actually have a lot of variety. And yeah, Pokemon may be deeper in the PvP, but the single player is a joke compared to cyber sleuth even on easy mode. And that's because Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's memory were made mostly with single player in mind, with multiplayer being just a fun little addition. Not to mention that raising Digimon is far more fun and smooth than raising Pokemon due to the platinumnumemon/tactician USB exploit and the fact that Digimon cyber Sleuth doesn't withhold information about it's mechanics from you. I don't get your beef with the occult club either. I understand you may not like them, but they have very little presence in both games, unlike those other characters you mentioned and are meant for nothing more than comic relief and helping to advance the plot. Besides, no character in the cyber sleuth games, even the flimsy ones, is as infuriatingly badly written as chairman Rose
I have the OG game on PS4. My final 11 Mon Squad was so unnecessary in my opinion, but i wanted to make it. It consisted of Rosemon BM, MegaGargomon, HiAndromon, GranKuwagamon, Chaosdramon, Mastemon, Examon, Armageddemon, Apocalymon, Lucemon SM, and Alphamon Ouryuken.
I want more of the cyber sleuth games I love all the Digimon and how well everything is done and while I don’t wanna make a Pokémon comparison it’s had me way more engrossed this year thang swsh and I just love it

It is one of my favorite game of all time you did forgot the dlc you get all 341 in both games it will take some time but it is worth it and if you want you can watch TV as well best decision to put on the Nintendo switch ever

Tbh people have been sleeping on digimon games for ever. Most recent digimon games (except digimon survive) have been bangers. I bought it on my vita originally and now I’m playing again on my ps5, since I bought a physical copy of it.
It is much more heavily instanced, it really doesn't attempt to create a sprawling open world feeling. That's one downside I can see. Maybe that and some of the walls of text are just silly long. Really long story segments and a lot of them are filler just needed to trigger the next daisy chain of events.
good review just a couple notes. 1. I don't think the stories are that strong in these games, especially the first game. The digital world actually isn't present at all except a very short chapter at the end and the main story doesn't even get going until over halfway through. Everything up until that is filler and most of the characters are just goofy. and 2. the grind isn't that bad at all. Yeah it's there but its nothing compared to the grind in digimon or most other turn based RPGs.
Looks really sloppy. I just got it and found the opening so boring. I'm gonna refund it. It could be so much more polished. And I ejoy grindy games. Even the players running animation looks poorly done.
They need to maintain their 'simple charm' , which seems to imply feeling like they were made 20 years ago. But forever. Some people also defend it from the perspective they want to fill in the voices and battles with their own imagination, and that any attempt by the dev team to do it would just be disappointing
so i have a save file issue with the orignal PS4 version of digimon story cyber sleuth i pre-ordered it with the dlc download of the digi-monstorus dlc but now my ps4 seems to not remember me downloading this dlc and because of this i cant load the save file does anyone know a fix for this!?
Dont play this game thinking it's like pokemon. It kinda is but it's much slower paced and alot of text to read. It can get boring at times. Pokemon is a 20 to 30 hour game. Digimon is 50 to 60 hours.

@@srzgaming2408 It's not really that tiring if you managed unlock every Digimons in Cyber Sleuth, you only need digivolve your favorite Digimon in Hacker Memories and digivolve few digimons that only available in Hacker Memories.
"Revitalized". No, they get retconned. It's different. But we do still have access to our favorite originals too, thankfully (at least for the most part).

Probably late on this, but there is a limit on it. However it's expanded as you get Bank drives that increase the amount by 25 every time. At max you can have about 11 Digimon in your party, 10 per farm (with 5 farms giving you 50 total), and 100 bank slots + 10 bank upgrades for 350 slots.
Does anyone know if the bonus items you get for save sharing can be gotten in both CS and HM? Also how does save sharing work In this game can you only link one save to another single save or can you link any HM save to any CS save?
I haven't played a Digimon game since Rumble Arena 2 on the GameCube. I saw that the Complete Edition was on sale in the Nintendo eShop for only 20 bucks and I had to pick it up ASAP. Really hoping I enjoy this game.

Why cant they just make a digimon game where you get transported to the digital world and have to choose from three digimon to train or take a test or something to see which Digimon will become your partner for your adventure and it would be open world and you would have to save the digital world from an evil force kind of like digimon tamers instead they make these really boring games this games battle system is legit the same as digimon linkz which is a mobile game
