This is one of the reason I love this game, because you get to experience the anime plot armor of never give up and power of friendship bullshit, to turn the unwinnable battle to a comeback win....
Best part is how it's not scripted. This serves as a reward for training and properly taking care of your partners that still doesn't kick in all the time, so you can't rely on it to carry you. It actually really kicks in when you feel defeated- in that sense it actually accomplished that 'anime power of friendship bullshit' better than any game I've ever seen.

I know what you mean. In my fight with Birdramon, my Sorcerermon fell first, and I wasn't too worried, because I thought that my Rosemon could carry the rest of the battle. How wrong I was. And it was then that I felt truly defeated. But when the Digivice started to glow, I was first in utter shock. Then, I was utterly ecstatic, and filled with hope, as I witnessed the ExE transformation for Rosemon BM. And I was thankful that she won the fight in 1 attack.😊😂
Still remember this. I was so pissed my 2 megas couldn't beat a Vikemon, I was about to switch off. Then I heard that music kick on :D Kicked. His. Ass.
same, it was my first time seeing that in action. And after that I was assulted by 4 black agumon and i think magnaangemon and I was lucky to again trigger the exe upon death
I know what you mean, I had this happened to me, and I was pleasantly surprised when my first EXE happened between my Black Metal Garurumon and Mega Seadramon into Omegamon-Zwart, I was so ecstactic when that happened!
Had this happen to me in the same fight....except that the Digimon I wound up getting via the ExE was Belphemon Rage Mode! Apparently my Digimon were *really* pissed off about losing.... o.o'
@@oblivious8868 actually the Fusion you get depends on the 2 digimon fusing. If they are strong enough, and they very "Dark Based" you can even get Omegamon Alter-B
Basically when I first saw this was when I got to the boss fight leading to the start of the final half of the main story my partners who by this point went from Salamon to Gatomon, and BlackGatomon, and at this point their Ultimate/Perfect forms Angewomon, and LadyDevimon and the ExE Cross Digivolution I got was their future Jogress Digivolution Mastemon. And it was really cool and allowed me to turn the tide of battle.
I just had my first time of this happen earlier. I was exploring trying to find more Digimon to recruit to town to progress the story with Taomon, and I strolled into a part of Logic Volcano that I haven't been to. I found a MetalTyrannomon I thought I could kill, but it took down my Vikemon and Chaos Gallantmon pretty quick. I thought it was over until I saw the ExE begin to happen. They became Omnimon Zwart and quickly took down Tyrannomon.
First time it happened to me was against that Pirate digimon in the ghost ship zone. [its been like 3 years] I had been losing this way and that way throught my playtime, and it was the first boss i was like; "ah damn, i felt like i did my best" I had no idea ExE was a thing until it happened just then, i screamed and got Omegamon. Fell in love with this game instantly. Cant wait for a sequel or a port.

I can never stop being absolutely thrilled when my Digimon get taken down, but because of our bond, they are just too determined to give up the fight, so they pull what's left of each other's fighting spirits together, ExE, and then we wreck house. Pulling a ExE just to have a leg up in a battle is one thing, but there's something special about seeing what your partners will combine into before getting revenge.
I know the feeling you had in this. For me the first time this happened was during the fight with Machinedramon in Dead End Town. Went in a bit cocky cause i hadn't had much issues up to that point, so i hadn't saved in probably n hour, and only did like 1/4 of the machindramons health before dying. I was heartbroken when the cut scene first started with the heartbeat, cause thinking back to my time in DW1, i thought my digimon just fully died because i lost that fight and i had to start back with babies. But the second that music kicked in, you know something bad ass is about to happen. It gets you pumped and excited real quick.
Know the feeling, just happened to me yesterday versus Omegashoutmon, since i beat both Mugendramon with Perfect stage digimons(Wasnt easy at all) i tho with megas the other fight wold be easy but OS beat our asses so bad, and this Kicked in, MirageGaogamon and Vikemon Fuse to Susanoomon and i literally cried for that anime BS moment i swear.
They should have Super ExE/ExE+, where you yourself fuse with both partners. And also let specific Ultra levels (like Omegamon and Imperialdramon FM) ExE. It always felt weird that you can't get Imperialdramon PM from those two in this game.
Just had this happen for th first time. My Rosemon and Zudomon became Rosemon Burst Mode.....unfortunately was still against that Bancholeomon and i was not prepared so I was still rocked but it was still awesome
No word of a lie - when this first happened to me (versus Bancholeomon) it was possibly the best moment I've experienced in a video game. And this video shows why - going from 'crap crap crap, I'm in over my head - got to run, wait can't run, #### NO...' to 'wtf?' to 'WTF??' to kicking his ass and listening to awesome music :D Gogo anime bullshit :P
This happened to me too while fighting Bancho. My mon fused into Imperialdramon PM, but however got defeated again. It was a feeling of super hype, followed by a feeling of 😑. Which after a while, I felt was actually funny, because rather than how everyone must have felt that they were in a Digimon anime, I ended up feeling like I was in a parody anime!
To be fair Arresterdragon looks like champion level digimon Spawned in mid level stages And no one watch gumdramon anime But 2 low-mid mega partner couldnt even stracth him I think its safe to say that most people will underestimate him
I haven’t had this happen yet, just started playing and hoped to have it before Rebirth. Only got to Ultimate, but I’m gonna take my time in the game and see where I get. Definately making sure we don’t die at Day 14 this time. Seems epic.
The first time my Digimon ever exe’d death before I knew about it I was crying tears of an anime fan and saying Digimon name! Digimon name! DNA! Digivolve d to!!!!! And the. I was crying and singing song same time while being as anime as I could be
The first time I pulled an Exe evolution I felt so darn powerful. This Bancholeomon that could 3-shot both partners was suddenly destroyed by Armageddomon. And I didn't think it could get more anime than the hype I felt... Well I heard this can happen, now this is more anime.

First time my partners fainted I was not to happy then the extra cross evolution happened I said wtf.? Next thing you know I get shine greymon BM. I yelled Holy cow!!
I had no clue this could happen till I saw this video lmao I was in shock when my digimon turned into imperialdramon PM on ExE but if I got imperialdramon PM from this I would have died
It will trigger 99% of the time if you met the requirements, i.e. one of your Digimon have to be Ultimate and above, the other have to be Mega. Both Digimon Bond with you needs to be 100 and your two Digimon bond needs to be above 40(I think) with each other.
@@kikotsukino1629 well it didn't work out for me, I tested it 8-10 times recently My condition : two mega, both with 100 friendship and also 100 bonding with me Maybe I am just the 1%
I'm a year late (so idk hoof you found out how)but the Death ExE evolution happens when you are close to or at Max friendship with your digimon and them with eachother
As far as I know, it's not random but it has some requirements: 1. You need 100 DigiFriendship with both Digimons 2. Death ExE can only happen once per day
