Darrick talks about the most empowered generation and the idea of leveraging traditionally inspirational events to create the infrastructure for change. Machine learning accelerates discovery, crowd-funding allows people to pursue their passions easier than ever before, and social media gives us the opportunity for open idea sharing and generation. He is a futurist, an inventor, with several patents to his name. Darrick is an artist, entrepreneur, and innovator. He believes strongly in corporate social responsibility, a new age of democratic empowerment via technology, and developing products that positively impact the world. For the past few years, Darrick has been incorporating this same creativity into the tech industry, working particularly in Artificial Intelligence, Augmented/Virtual Reality and blockchain applications. Darrick is on a mission to meet and connect with changemakers and visionaries, to support them on their path, and help catalyze fruitful connections in his network. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Love this talk because you're so genuine and purely yourself :)) Transformational festivals are 100% a platform for aiding the shift into sustainability, connection and change. Thank you for bringing your beautiful mind and heartfelt experiences into society!!

Thank You, Julia! This means so much coming from You - You are one of the activists and musicians I admire most. I'm so deeply grateful for the council of vibrant Jedis like You in this world, to be working together to regenerate the Earth as a collectively brilliant energy. Blessings, Darrick

Excellent talk! Thank you. What are the chances of setting the closed captions on this so it can be shared more freely as an educational resource?

Festivals don't mean change, they just mean there's a bunch of people on drugs thinking they're enlightened

Aaron - I totally hear your perspective on festivals, and frankly I've seen some that are what you describe, and it has made a bad stigma for other, more grounded, drug-free festivals, of which there are *Many* at this point. While I believe that plant medicines are actually a beautiful ally in the awakening process for many, including myself, they must be used in ceremony, with deep intention and respect - which I sometimes see a lack of at some festivals and wish they would evolve more---which is why I made this speech. Because there are incredible humans there with intentions to do good in the world, and a lot of creative brilliance and interdisciplinary backgrounds. I felt many of those same frustrations when I went to burningman the first time, and wished that we were actually DOING something for the world with all this collective energy we created. Look into Collective Legacy, Freedom Culture, Imagine Convergence, Earth Repair Conference, and a number of others. The rise of solution-oriented gatherings has begun, and now, these types of gatherings will need to happen online, due to COVID - and there's a lot of brilliant work happening there. Bless You, and I respect you expressing your views here Aaron. Best, Darrick Morrison

So unbelievably vague. I think your heart is in the right place but no solutions offered . Heartfelt moments will not heal the planet.
