When I purchase mine right out of the box it never seem to work correctly. I calibrate it but when I go to set it on the drum, it still reads 100. It seems to take forever for it starts getting an accurate reading into the 70s. So basically it’s just stay stuck on 100

Place your digital DrumDial on the glass calibration square and press the on button. It will read 888 then 100. As you slowly lift the tuner it will count down to zero. If you turn the tuner on while held in the air (not set on the glass) it will only read 100. You can also set the tuner on the glass calibration square and press and hold the CAL button for 4 seconds then slowly lift and the tuner will count down to zero. That is the entire calibration process. Let us know how this works out or if you are still having difficulties.

@@DrumDial I do exactly what you had described and it takes several attempts before it will start giving an actual reading below 100. I actually tuned my drums again this morning and it took about 15 minutes of going through this process before the damn thing would actually read something in the 70s sitting on the drum head. Once it gets there, it's fine. But as I said.. it takes several attempts before this happens. I guess I will live with it.

It sounds like you may have a loose battery compartment. Slightly pull the battery holder out about 1/4 inch and then press all the way in and press to make sure that the battery holder is pressed in a tightly as possible. This should solve the problem. You may also have a weak battery.
