Your video is the bomb. This is the first time I have seen or heard a simple, concise explanation of stops that made perfect sense. knowing the dials increment at 1/3 stop each click is greatness. Brilliant. Thank you.

THANK YOU>>>> i cant tell you how long this has been bugging me about stops, i just remember settings from previous light setups in school. Instructors at Art Institutes never fully explained that. It was great for networking mostly.

Mark... you have become the virtual tutor for us in our house. We watch and learn a lot from you. Have a suggestion whether you could do video on how to get maximum correct exposure while taking a picture where there are dynamic ranges in the scene. Bright sky dark shades, water mountain with snow etc. I searched everywhere there are many like me wants to know from a pro. Other than HDR how and where do you do the meter reading and expose for a great picture. Hope you can do one video.

@angel9719 Since you said fluorescent light, I am guessing its a low light situation. In that case, the two most important things you need to make sure is that your white balance is set correctly and in order to reduce the blur, you would need a fast lens, or a lens with a large aperture/small f/stop number such as f2.8. Image stabilization will also help greatly. Therefore, a lens with a small f number and image stabilization is most important for your situation.

@alyman77 Some people learn in different ways. That's just the way it is. I'm the type of person that can read a manual over and over all day but can't really learn anything from it. That's because I'm more of a visual/hands on learner. You can't fault people for not reading the manual. Everything that mark has put in his videos so far is in a manual, magazine, or book some where. On another note I see Digital Photography 1 on 1 as a play on words for 101 (as in basics).

When you say over exposed and under exposed it that something you want to avoid doing or is it OK on some occasions to be over or under exposed and is there a difference between those two.

+Daniele Kirylo Thank super help full..;)
@AbrahamHernandez
@AbrahamHernandez 8 лет назад
+Terrabyte it all depends on what you're trying to do, when I'm shooting long exposure at the city, I always under expose my shot so that my image doesn't blow up due to the extended shutter speed. If I'm trying to shoot action in low light or at night, I'll over expose a little to compensate for the fast shutter speed and low light. just play around with the settings and have fun :)
