Bhupen ji and Mukesh ji are two iconic examples. भूपेनजींचे "मौला हो मौला" हे गीत हे दुसरे उदाहरण.. personally appreciate the lyrics in this song more than the music. "'तेरी उंची अटारी... मैने पंख लिये कटवाये"।... तीरासारखे शिरतात शब्द. हूम हूम करणारे दिल केवळ गुलजार साहेबांचे असू शकते... खूप सुंदर. The black and white shots add to the mood.
रुदाली मधील हे गाणं लता दीदींपेक्षा भूपेनजी यांच्या आवाजात मला प्रचंड आवडलंय. लता दीदी आहेतच ग्रेट पण भूपेन हजारीका यांनी ज्या दमदार स्वरात गायलंय की ते थेट काळजावर घाव घालतं. अगदी नैसर्गिक मोकळ्या पहाडी आवाजात भूपेनजी गायलेय. गुलजारजींचे शब्द आणि असा अवकाशाला भेदून जाणारा भूपेंजींचा स्वर... लाजवाब!... जीस तन को छुवा तुने... हे खालच्या स्वरातील शब्द काळीज स्पर्शून जात असताना, ओ मोरे चंद्रमा... हा पहाडी स्वर काळीज आरपार भेदून जातो अगदी. तुम्ही राहुलजी त्या पहाडी स्वराला आज पुन्हा ताजे टवटवीत केलंय. खूप खूप छान राहुलजी 👍🏼🙏🏻

A National Award winning song of Lata ji. What a great composition by Bhupen ji!! I love his version as well. I thought you would sing his version as well. It's one of my all time favorites n I could sing this song any number of times. All the songs in this movie are worth singing. Yaara Sili Sili, Jhuti muthi mitwa, Samay O dheere chalo. The music in these songs still gives a fresh feeling to the listeners no matter how many times it is listened. This rendition of your's is a beautiful Gift indeed. You just picked up a Gem. Rahul… thoroughly enjoyed your rendition this morning of this lovely haunting melody in Raag Bhoop composed by Bhupen Hazarika ji for 'Rudali'! “Dil hoom hoom kare” is a famous song written by Gulzar ji who took the creative liberty of using the words" hoom hoom " from original Assamese song, "Buku hom hom kore" by Bhupen ji, instead of going with the literal Hindi translation "Dhak dhak". Your exploration of the melody within the structure of the raag was as usual treat to the ears. I totally agree with your comments on: 1. The popular folk tunes which are carried forward from generations for us to enjoy! 2. The ‘expressions’ and the Sur… :) BTW… my partner in Dubai for the ‘Groovon’ project is great grand nephew of Bhupen ji. Brilliant as usual. You have almost mastered the very difficult technique of holding the next swar/syllable back. Ideally it should not be released at all ,but only seemingly so. And pardon the intrusion. Deep breathing and pranayam will help in its complete mastery.
