The space was originally a Montgomery Ward's. After they closed the space was divided between Carlisle's, Toys R Us, and Gold's Gym. Carlisle's closed in 1994, and in 1996 Toys R Us was moved to Great East Plaza to make way for Dillard's
At least it will NOT sit abandoned. Dave & Busters is gonna take it's place there. They also have one in the Belden Village Mall in Canton, Ohio where the Sears used to be. They're taking over half of it, while the other half is occupied by Dicks Sporting Goods. They also have a Dave & Busters inside of the Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At least Dillards will still be found at the Belden Village Mall in Canton, Ohio and also at Summit Mall in Fairlawn, Ohio. Summit Mall has 2 Dillards stores.
I’ve always been surprised that Dillards never was able to keep both of their stores in the Youngstown area! Yet, both of the Macy stores remain. I’m just going to say it, Dillard’s is way better than Macys in regards to quality and service!
