Thank you! Very interesting to see the first reaction without translation and then with it! We can often (but not always) get the message somehow without knowing the lyrics. However, it's still a must to see them in order to know for real. Dimash is an artist with substance, his songs have often a great message. For me, knowing the meaning adds a lot to the experience. I'm here with Angie crying, first for Dimash's voice & the message and then for the sound of kobyz. So soulful. Incredibly deep and philosophical song, love it so much. Even if it hits hard to listen at times. I agree with Rollen, this is such a good song, as a composition & music. Dimash's low voice sounds so rich. I also love the rock style ending, it's fire! It portrays the meaning well - the intense music together with those flashes of faces from older to younger show how the life is intense, short. Awesome.

Omir Oter is indeed about how fleeting life is; how one can leave his/her legacy to shape a nation (the prominent historical figures of the past); how past, present and future are deeply connected; how one should strive to live life honorably and fulfill one’s dreams because life is short: it passes in a blink of an eye. It was brilliantly shown at the end of the video with all those faces from different walks of life. Dimash, as an old man, reflecting on his own life and legacy, has such a powerful impact. For her achievements she was recognized as the National Artist of Kazakhstan. - Alikhan Bukeikhanov (1866-1937): Kazakh statesman, political and public figure, teacher, journalist and ethnographer. He was the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. -Akhmet Baytursinuly (1873-1937): Kazakh intellectual who developed his activity in the fields of politics, poetry, linguistics and education. He was executed. His works are part of the compulsory content in high school teaching in Qazakhstan. - Mir Yakub Dulatoglu (1885-1935): Kazakh politician, writer and poet. -Aliya Nurkmukhambetovna Moldagulova (1925-1944): World War II heroine, sniper, she was killed at the age of 19. (Dimash has a song about this heroine. He sang it when he was around 13 yrs. I personally love the song Aliya.) Info taken from the fanclubs and IG/wiki. Dimash premiered Omir Oter on his digital concert on 1/16/21 and I wasn't automatically taken with it.
