Dimash wasn't competing he was a judge here, the judges perform their new songs here and he premiered 3 songs and sang two of his other songs so there are 5 performances from the New Wave this year. He always comes to New Wave each year as a guest performer so we can't wait for next year 💖

LOL! Dimash does not participate in competitions except as a judge as he did here at NewWave. Dimash premiered 3 new songs during the competition week concerts of guest performers. He performed a total of 5 songs. You Love, I Miss You, Stranger, Fly Away and Ave Maria. Stranger, Fly Away and Ave Maria were brand new compositions written for Dimash.

👉 Dimash presented his new dancing song "Fly away" here, at the International Competition of Young Performers "New Wave-2021" in Sochi, Russia. The song for Dimash was written by Kazakh authors and adressed to the young people: Letting go of all problems and differences and opens the way to freedom and soul search. Song writer Yedilzhan Gabbasov, who has been in music industry for more than twenty years, he said “Inspiration came to me one quiet evening when a tune suddenly turned up in my head. I started humming it out loud and immediately thought of Dimash’s voice. And then, I realized that I would really like him to be the one to sing that song,”. Jordan Arakelyan, the author of the lyrics to such Dimash’s hits as “Give Me Your Love” and “Be With Me”, also shared how the work on the new track went: “Dimash always says in advance what a song should be about and he puts the meaning in it. When he’s singing the demos, I can hear certain words, even if Dimash’s singing without any lyrics. Dimash won this competition back in 2015 this New Wave competition has been going on since 2002. He was invited as a judge this year and the judges perform during the competition.

Thank you, I enjoyed your reaction! This is a catchy pop song from Dimash. Very meaningful lyrics - as usual. I also love that sweet breathy tone. About contests... Despite his quite young age (27) Dimash is already a world renowned singer with multimillion following. His largest fan base is in China, then in Kazakhstan and Russia but he has fan clubs in ~150 countries. So, he doesn't need to compete anymore. Dimash has confirmed himself that now he wants to focus on his creative work. He has also kind of stepped to the "second" round, being now a judge himself and a guest performer. Like he was here on New Wave and earlier this summer at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus (an international contest he won in 2015).

Dimash just posted in his channel an updated version of his song Olimpico 2021 that you should check it out. It appears he sang it in the same stage where he sang Fly Away but without any public present.

Dimash went to the New Wave 2021 contest in Sochi as a guest artist and member of the jury. HE DIDN'T GO TO COMPETITION !!! On this occasion he premiered three songs: Stranger, Fly Away and Ave María, of which we have been reacting recently. Two days ago he uploaded to his You Tube page the first song of the digital concert that he offered to the world on January 16, 2021 and which was seen by more than 150 countries. He sang in six languages and put on a magnificent show alongside his dance group, choir, and orchestra. We are waiting for him to continue uploading the other songs to continue enjoying quality music.
