Barry, you should listen to Alla Pugacheva’s rendition of this song. Totally different, although you recognize that it is the same song and it is beautiful, Dimash change every song that he covers and make it his own.

Not only is he the composer, but responsible for the amazing vocal arrangements and promoting Dimash into the upper echelons of the Eastern European music industry. Krutoy’s music ranges from jazz to film scores and power ballads like this one. I actually have downloaded three of his albums.

Melody I work in the industry. Believe me, any composer has a good to big say in the vocal arrangements. It is their song, the platform which the singer needs and uses. Erlan May have a say, but it’s to do with voice, reverb, microphone details etc. to make the voice as clear as it should be. Production, producer. That too works in tandem with the vocal arrangements. Obviously, Dimash has to have a say, because he is the singer. Of COURSE it is a collaboration with all three. But Krutoy has years and years of experience over younger singers. He can teach a lot. Now, while I did not specifically say in my first comment that Dimash was part of it, because we all already know that and that is a given, I knew that because I didn’t mention it, I would get comments to tell me I am wrong. Which is fine. But if you cannot hear the difference in the vocal arrangements from when he first appeared and the work he does when he is directly singing with Krutoy, then you are listening only with adoring ears that tend to block other things out. In fact, I will go so far as to say that he works best when he works with the composers. Another example is Across Endless Dimensions. The sound is “tight” and on point. I don’t only listen to the wonderful voice of Dimash or any other singer. I listen to everything surrounding the voice as well. Some orchestras support the singer‘s voice, especially if the singer has a good and strong voice, as opera singers. At other times, the orchestra sounds like it’s doing its own thing. Those times the singer has insisted that it’s what he wants - it’s their way. In this case you know that it’s Igor style because if you listen to his other music you can tell that’s how he hears his own music. The best singers in the world make their work about what the composer wants or wanted. Then they add their own creativity, voice and singing style. And even when the composer is dead , opera singers do not trash what they write by doing their own arrangements only - it always had to be in tandem to what the composer intended before the singer arranged what he’s going to do, and when.

@@OperaJH You perhaps work in the industry, but I am not sure how much you really know about the Russian show business industry. To say about me that I am blinded by Dimash's voice shows that there are a lot of things you don't see and understand about what is going on there. By the way, I never said he doesn't consult with the composer or take his suggestions into account. But to say that Igor is the one making the arrangements without mentioning Erlan... well, never mind. And maybe it's better this way. I don't want to argue with you.

Melody it’s simple. Music is music. There is no mistake that Krutoy has helped Dimash a great deal. Anything wrong with saying that? We are blinded by his voice, we all LOVE it, but there are others who help showcase it in the best way possible. Igor Krutoy is a major factor. If you can’t accept that, you insult a major artist. Loving Dimash doesn’t mean one cannot praise others who help and support him. For goodness sake!

It is actually a cover and Krutoy wrote it for Alla Pugacheva. But Dimash took it to a whole new level!
