Yes, Dimash is the one who is shot and he died in her arms, however the scene was cut because the entire crew was sobbing. Very perceptive and accurate description of the events, thank you for sharing your reaction. This is just a music video from my understanding.

It’s one of the few songs where he doesn’t show his wide vocal range or vocal exercises other than that incredibly soft, breathy voice. Perhaps the content of this song is more important to him than showing his vocal ability. I think that’s a very good choice for this song. At first the song didn’t appeal to me that much. I wasn’t alone there. You’re not used to such a “normal” song from Dimash. But together with the MV, a masterpiece. All his songs and especially the MV’s have a deeper meaning. I love this one so much. It’s one of my favorites. The MV is about the time during Stalin’s repression in 1937. Back then, the secret police could do whatever they wanted. I think this officer for some reason was looking for Dimash’s character and then forced his girlfriend into some kind of relationship. She had to endure it to protect the love of her life. Realizing that she never stopped loving Dimash’s character, the officer ended it in his own way. The video was shot to the end, but the scene at the end where he dies in her arms was left out. If you want you can see it on his channel. As for the song, I actually like it better without the vocal acrobatics. We all know what Dimash is capable of vocally and I find that breathy, deeply sad voice really fitting. The MV really moved me deeply. There are backstage photos of Dimash collapsing in the arms of that girl😭. OMG he’s such a great actor too. I badly want to see him in a movie😳
In a scene not put in the main video: After you hear the shot fired, a frame of video shows him and her hugging for a few seconds and her raising her head for a kiss.....until Dimash's frame softens and slumps against her and she realizes that her ex didn't miss...:'( Wonderful ending. Wished they'd have put it in, but I guess in some places it was too much.

This is Russia in 1937 under Stalin repression. Not the nazis, but the KGB. They could do anything including murder. I think Igor and Dimash wanted to show the Russian people what will happen under a country rule by absolute power. The video was going to be shown in Russia just before the Invasion of Ukraine. Both, Igor and Dimash, refused to take part in the Concert and left Russia. The film was done in Saint Petersburg in an abandoned factory. How the video got to Igor nobody knows. He sent it to Dimash as a birthday present on May 2022.
We will never know exactly why the final scene was cut, there are many different opinions. However the actual footage (not the behind the scenes bit) was leaked for a very short time and I did get to see it. From my personal opinion I think it was cut because the level of acting from the professional actress did not match Dimash's. His death scene was brilliantly acted, very poignant and not overdone. The actress however showed extremely little emotion considering her lover was dying in her arms. In fact in the BTS footage you can actually hear the director shouting at her to show more emotion. It's about time he took on the acting roles that he's been offered so many times.
She was a good actress in my opinion. I believe if this were the reason, they could just reshoot the scene. I think an open ending was a smart decision.

@@debbiemorgan859 Initial shock? It takes time to process that your loved one is killed. And in any case, they could easily redo it if that were the reason. So I really don't believe it was. I think they didn't want to show Dimash dying and preferred to leave an open ending.
@@anahills3836 Exactly, he obviously prefers singing, and for a good reason in my opinion. Personally, I see a few issues with acting. First, at least for now, it will be extremely difficult for him to play in movies that are not in his native tongue. He has some difficulty remembering even the words of songs he has already sung like a 100 of times in English, Russian and other languages. It will take a lot of time and effort for him to just memorize texts. Acting is a full time job in itself, especially considering he is not a professional actor, and this means he wouldn't be able to dedicate to singing and creating music all the time he wants and needs to. Which means he won't be able to achieve his best in what he is potentially the greatest in. His career as a singer is still developing, he can't afford to interrupt it with other things, especially after such delays as COVID and the war, that have been standing in the way of his progress as it is. His acting is very far from the level of truly great theater and movie actors, like Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins etc. He could be a not bad/average actor, but why, when he can be the greatest singer in the world? To act for an MV or for commercials or even some musical production where he also sings - yes, sure. But to act in a movie that is unrelated to music? What for? I think he realizes himself he could never be as great an actor as he is a singer, he doesn't have the propensity to act and isn't even really interested in acting in musicals (he was asked and didn't display any real interest, more like perhaps someday, but not in the plans for now). So I believe it's better for him to stick to what he does and loves doing best and act only in support of his musical art, and not turn into a movie actor. Just my opinion.
