I can't begin to tell you how important Dimash has become to those of us who have been following him since his first appearance on that Chinese reality show in 2017. For many of us, it's all Dimash, all the time. Thousands of us have made challenging trips from halfway around the world in order to see him live at his various concerts. SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. There are a number of versions of Dimash singing this song, each different but all great. This song comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, nobody in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.

I'm happy for you that you have finally discovered Dimash. I've been following him for nearly seven years, and I listen to and watch his performances daily for several hours. I've been music obsessed for all of my quite long life but have found that all the most important music of my life is far less important to me since discovering Dimash.
My experience almost same about 7 years listening to DIMASH; those of us who have been following him for so long, have come to expect more from singers; when we listen to others, they all fall short of the standards we have come to expect from DIMASH. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. Dimash has been professionally trained since age 5. He’s 29 as of May 24, 2023. He first entered what he called “the adult stage” when he was 22 and he had won many competitions prior to the Singer show in China. I am a singer is unlike the voice, agt, or X factor. In 2017, he was invited to compete with known Chinese singers in China. Since he was the only non Chinese, he had to go first and he sang SOS. His French was a little off, his English was a little off in 2017. This reaction was in 2018. Dimash has held many solo concerts around the world and yes, no matter how large the Arena, tickets are sold out immediately. He held a solo concert in NewYork City at the Barclays Center and his Dears (fans) from 64 countries attended that concert. If he ever has another concert in America, you should purchase your ticket immediately. He has gotten so much better and should have his Doctorate Degree now. By the way, the show I am a Singer in China, of course they gave the one and only prize to a Chinese woman who we’ve heard nothing more about her. She’s a good singer but they know Dimash won that competition. He came in 2nd place. The woman won by 0.10 points. They changed it in the 2018 competition and Jessie J from the UK won. I honestly didn’t think she was that good. Hua from China should have won. If you go back to 2017, go on Gloria Wu’s channel as she was grateful by putting English subtitles and the back story for every song Dimash sang. He wrote Unforgettable Day when he was just 18. He did a cover of Vitas song Opera 2 and he did a much better job. Vitas tried to sue Dimash but he was given permission by the producers of I am a singer so he sent a cease and desist letter so Dimash who really enjoyed his music can no longer do covers of any of his songs. At the end of the 2018 Season, the singers from 2017 were invited to participate in their finale. Dimash sang a Cover of Lionel Ritchie’s song Hello. Dimash took nothing away from that song and it’s almost like a different song but Lionel also sent a cease and desist letter to Dimash so he can never cover that song again. What I really enjoy about Dimash is the fact that he loves music worldwide and does Covers of those songs. He did a cover of Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, the original singer of Sinful Passion has passed away and he did a cover of that song. All of the members of the band are the original band members who accompanied Dimash. So many people are Covering songs of young artists and the songs are fairly new. These are the people who appear on AGT and The Voice. They put a little twist on it but it’s nothing special in my opinion. Igor Krutoy, well renowned maestro, composer and producer came out of retirement to work with Dimash. He and Dimash write new songs for him and songs that Igor wrote many years ago are sung by Lara Fabian who loves Dimash. They have sung together. Dimash has over a hundred songs that he sings at his solo concerts. It took him 3 years to write “The Story of One Sky” which is extraordinary. If you react to his live performance, react to the one he sang in Part 3 of his Almaty concert. Also on Dimash’s birthday, May 24, 2023 he wrote a song called Omir, pronounced O-mare, which shows clips of his journey since he was a toddler. I listened to all of the singers during the 2017 Season of I am a Singer. You will get many subscribers if you delve into Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan which is Eastern Europe. They sit and listen to the singer and clap after. So there is no jumping around and half dressed women. Eastern European listeners are the total opposite to the Western culture as we have a tendency to jump up and down, we don’t listen to the singer, we dance to the band. Without a popping band on the West, I find it quite boring and many original singers can’t sing. They don’t have proper technical skills, lack mic control, strain when hitting notes, and can only sing their song the same way every time. It’s not all singers but it sure is many of them. I’ve been listening to him for over 6 years, and with each and every new song he sings I am totally captivated by his voice. I was blessed to see him perform live on stage back in 2019. It was at his first solo concert in America. He sang in New York City, at the Barclay Center to a sold out house, where fans ( Dears) from owner 60 countries came together to listen to his magnificent voice. It was breathtaking to see him performing live on stage. It was definitely a dream come true for me. This is my favorite version of "SOS". But my favorite performance (there are so many) overall of Dimash is, "Stranger (new wave 2021)". The performance is within Russia but the song is sung in English. The whole performance is mind boggling with Dimash's vocal abilities truly unbelievable especially the ending.

I could not believe what I was hearing upon my first listen to DQ several years ago. I still cry to this day when no other singer has moved me to tears. Since then Hua Chen Yu and Park Hyo Shin have also moved me to tears due to their emotional delivery. But Dimash moves me to tears for that reason but also for this unexplainable deep soul spiritual something that he hits in me....just the sound, the absolute purity of his tonal resonant quality in his voice makes me cry apart from the emotional content!! Family is very primary part of Kazak culture. Dimash trains every day from 3 to 5 hours plus swims to develop/maintain good breath control. He is a wee bit perfectionistic, very driven, and highly musical in every way. He remains humble, is not competitive ( except against himself) and has a wierd quirky sense of humour.🎶🌹🎶 Stranger often suffers from Copyright issues.🥺 DO NOT REACT TO ANY VIDEO BY WORLDS BEST. Dimash performs here at the 2018 International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk,” generally known simply as “Slavic Bazaar.” It is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus, sponsored by the Belarusian Government since 1992. Its main program promotes Slavic music, and the majority of participants are artists from the former Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries. The song “SOS (d'un Terrien en détresse)” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery. He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. His songs, "Fly Away," "Stranger," and "Ave Maria," debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Super Brothers S2" Youku Show that is simply mind-boggling and well-worth checking out. It is possibly Dimash’s best work today and took three years to complete. It showcases all of Dimash’s vocal skills, spans across all four registers, and covers a wide range of genres and vocal techniques. I would suggest watching the live performance fan cam footage of the song if you want to evaluate his vocal performance. The music video’s visuals and storyline are so impressive and emotional that it can be overwhelming and quite difficult to focus on the vocals. Born to sing AND he has worked darned hard at his craft, since he was 5. There is so much more to him too, than just his singing. I'll let others list his accolades, but he is an altogether estimable young man.
