That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu -???????? ????', You can hear it from the Turan group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.

He is making his voice break in a controlled way. I mean he is deliberately making his voice break rhythmically, speeding up the tempo. This is done by using his larynx to generate the breaks.

@@EAPFilmsOfficial alex is talking about 5:32 where his voice goes on and off. Not sure you heard it because you were talking at that time. It's traditional technique I guess. Now as far as the opera style You can do it when you're super high. Either in soprano like when he was using his head voice. Or when he's in his chest voice. It can be low as well in that case his baritone and sounds very deep and full That's what make dimash unique. Normally you'd see good singers excel in one aspect or another. Dimash has it all. It's almost impossible to have one singer having all kind of textures timbers... It's unheard of

Dimash is the voice of the century. His Sochi performance was the most epic display of virtuoso vocals I have ever heard and I say that after a lifetime of listening to the best from around the world.

I think Dimash secret is in his heart and soul, he started listening music full heartedly since he was 5 years old gifted child already. That's why we idolize Dimash Kudaibergen because his talent is out of this world you'll never seen him yes trying hard the way he perform he is always confident and feel how lovely is the song, focus on the lyrics of the songs. In I'm a Singer in China that he compete you will say that the word I'm a singer Dimash is a completely a singer. I think if he is a Chinese he won the contest he is only 2nd winner the winner is a Chinese girl of course what would you expect, I always say that to everybody here, they always asking why did not win? It's a long story but for us Dimash is a superstar now.

This performance was a special tribute to the Russian-based Kazakh band A-Studio on the occasion of their 30th Anniversary. It was part of a non-competitive introductory night to the event that Dimash had been invited to by the head judge of the competition. Dimash also sang at the closing.

Thank you for your appreciative comments. If you paid any attention to the white-shirted gentleman who was the first to sand up and applaud once Dimash had concluded his performance and was going to be buried under the flowers, you will meet him again in Moscow where Dimash was performing "The Love of Weary Swans" in the Congress Palace of the Moscow Kremlin. The gentleman is Igor Krutoy, the composer of "Weary Swans." The current performance happened in Sochi, Russia.

Dan, you literally read my mind! Less than 24 hours ago I looked to see if you had reacted to this. Absolutely astonishing isn’t he?! Dimash is the hardest working vocalist I have ever seen. Keep in mind that older vocalists didn’t have fans videotaping their every rehearsal and day to day movements the way that Dimash’s dedicated Dears do. I have been able to watch many of Gloria Wu’s translated videos of Dimash and he doesn’t consider practicing his vocals to be work because it is his passion. Dimash did a drum solo at his last concert in Shenzhen, China. Gloria’s rehearsal video showed Dimash practicing his solo over 500 times in a row. Gloria’s channel is under her name, Gloria Wu. She translates only Dimash videos and does so in record breaking speed...hours to mere minutes after a live video, performance or interview is completed. To my knowledge, Gloria has only had one video blocked and that was from QQ in China when Dimash’s first official music video was released, Screaming. I belong to two Dimash fan clubs...yep, 56 years old and my first time in a fan club 😂😂...Dimash USA Fan Club and DKIFC (Dimash Kudaibergen International Fan Club. Both Facebook clubs have shared information from Dimash’s dad, Kanat, and other spokespeople regarding what is good to share (like a RU-vid reaction or Facebook post for example) and what they ask you to not share. Those may be good resources for you if you want to try them. Thank you for your awesome reaction and it’s good to see you again!
@kayrush1706

And YES...Dimash’s own RU-vid channel only has videos approved to be shared.

Welcome back! It's nice to see you reacting to Dimash again. Everything on his official channel is safe. 😊 I think the reason his high notes sound confusing to you is because he's not singing in falsetto. His vocal chords remain connected so he sings high notes in soprano like a female opera singer. It gives his voice a beautiful tone that sets him apart. Female opera singers sound a little too shrill to my ears sometimes when thet sing really high notes but Dimash never does. I think it's because of the same reason you feel confused... his high notes have deep undertones because he is a man. It makes a unique, beautiful sound. 💕

☺smylyface☺ That is well said !! Great explanation dear. He is able to produce sounds with his voice that is unique only to him. Noooo one sounds like him n that alone sets him apart. You are right about the females hitting the high notes. I feel the same way.

👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 Oh, thank you! Great reaction! The reason why those musicians didn’t flinch is because they are the original band -A-Studio - that made the song famous I think ten years ago. The keyboard player is the composer. Dimash worked with them on the new interpretation and therefore they must have heard it many times before this night. About the voice change: so Dimash as a child sang in soprano range, like all little boys do, for example the Vienna Choir Boys. Then as he reached puberty, his voice started changing and he worked on developing his tenor/ baritone range. But at the time, the choir he was in was short on girls. So he was placed in the soprano section kicking and screaming, because he wanted to be with the boys. Thus he continued honing his higher range. Later, his mother - who was his first voice teacher- said in an interview, Dimash continued pushing and pushing the limits of his voice all by himself. Btw, Dimash participated recently in Phantacity, a program where a singer is paired with a director, and they come up with a mini-musical which is filmed live backstage, mixed on the spot and watched on a big screen by the audience live. Dimash sings “If I Never Breathe Again “, and “When You Believe”. No vocal acrobatics here but so much emotion!

Last year Dimash was so good it was scary. This year he's improved enough on every aspect of his singing and performing that it would make 2017 Dimash jealous. And he's only 24!!!! He's at the point where I think that every serious musician ought to stop and listen when he puts out a new song but he barely gets noticed outside of China and a small international community of youtubers. He has finally committed to a December date for his album so maybe that will be the breakthrough event.

Not only in China, Dimash is very well known of course also in Kazakhstan (don't ever forget that he is from Kazakhstan, where he himself, his mother and father are extremely well known artists) and also Russia. You only need to look at the answers in the Russian language by Russian followers of RU-vid to understand that simple fact. But maybe you just ignore them because they are in the Russian language, which you don't understand one word.
@ubervocal8777
@ubervocal8777 5 лет назад
@@seppokanerva7399 I was aware he is well known in Kazakhstan but it does not have a large population. He has fan clubs in many, many countries but I'm not aware of how big they are. His youtube channel (56,000 subs) and instagram (8,000) accounts are not that big which is a real shame. If there are many more Dimash supporters in Russia I think that's great. Hopefully, more people in other countries will also listen to his music.

Dimash was gifted with longer than normal vocal chords. As a teen when his voice "changed" it just added a lower register without diminishing his upper register. His natural range is 4 to 4.5 octaves which he has extended to at least 6 octaves. Most likely it's a bit more as he seems like the type to play around with his voice in practice. You can watch his dress rehearsal for this song and it's actually mind-blowing how seemingly casual he is while performing across the 4 octaves required for this arrangement. It too is note perfect. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qA5FhNwoQdw.html

Wanna know his secret? 1. He is blessed with a unique vocal chord. It's longer than usual. So high notes are easier for him than other ppl. 2. He has been training and learning singing ever since he was 5. He never stops. He still practises everyday. Trained classically btw that's why his technique is superb. Talent + hardwork = perfection

Dimash's last name is Kudaibergen, whenever talked about in Russian, they use the Russian name Kudaibergenov. Maybe someday you can see him live. We have had three Vocal Coaches see him live and they all say the same thing, Dimash does not, when people pay good money, lip sync. They have also seen people sadly, that do. They also say you get to hear a lot more in his voice live and it is just amazing live. You have seen him do the whistle note haven't you? If not, I will find the safe song for you. Thanks, Jackie DKIFC/USA
