A vocals and music professor in China has said in all of China's vast population.....he has yet to meet a single person there (and he meets a crazy good number of excellent vocalists) that possesses Dimash's vocal skills, power and techniques.

You would need to combine at least 3-4 highly skilled vocalists with different vocal ranges to sing CLOSEST TO Dimash. And Dimash is not merely about wide vocal ranges. That is only ONE aspect of Dimash's vocals skills.

I first heard SOS about 30 years back and loved it, but after hearing so many French singers do this song, and about 5+ years ago , I by chance heard DIMASH do this song and i was just as amazed you were hearing this for the first time. I have been a fan forever from that time forward as I felt I had heard the best finally do this song. i have listened to DIMASH everyday from that time forward and still get emotional each time I hear him sing; can't explain it just accept it. When we are in school we get pigion-holed as alto, tenor, etc. "You can only sing in this range," etc. Not true. Dimash has had over 20 years of vocal training and still practices 3 hours a day (I've read).

He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English). Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it.
