Hello! The majority of the people you saw, were the competitors of the show. Dimash was the 1st one to sing, and he was a foreigner since the show is in Cjhina, but he is from Khazakstan. This show is only for professional musicians (solo or bands), not to discover people that can sing (like most of these shows) and he was invited to participate. The people in the audience are the judjes. They are musicians, music teachers,.... all of them with a very profound (deep?) knowlege in music. Most first time reactors mainly notice Dimash's incredible vocal range. However they quite often tend to miss the amazing quality of.his voice. The first time I heard this song I knew within 30 seconds he was the best singer on the planet. Today Dimash Qudibergin is recognised worldwide by top music professionals as probably the greatest all-around singer/performer in history. His body of work over the last 7 years is insane. Every style of music from opera to rap and everything in-between. If you decide to explore his catalogue so far sung in 15 different languages. It'll increase your musical knowledge 10 fold.

The funny thing about complaining about them showing the judges--"we just want to see the performance"--is that WE are here to watch YOU watch the performance!

This show ("I am Singer" aka "The Singer") is unlike any other American competition show. All of the other performers are already famous and well-established in China. Dimash was a "wild card" and, until then, the youngest performer ever on the show. No one had ever heard of him and he was not expected to last past the first episode. "SOS" was the first performance of the first episode for that season. None of the people in the back room are judges. The majority of them are Dimash's fellow competitors and the others with them are their "partners" who, among other things, introduce the performers before they perform. The "judges" are the 500 audience members. They do not give any critiques at the end of the performances but vote at the end of each episode based on several factors. Dimash was ranked #1 for this performance. The consistently lowest ranked performers are eliminated and they are replaced with other well-known singers so the contestants are constantly changing. Frankly, I enjoy watching the other competitors as well as the audience. The competitors are all very supportive of one another and they took a 22-year old music student from Kazakhstan (Qazaqstan) who didn't speak Chinese and barely knew a few words of English under their wing. They nicknamed him "imported little brother" and were very kind to him. He made some lifelong friendships with some of the other performers. (Sorry if some of this information is repetitious. I wrote this before I read all the comments.)

I was at his 30th birthday concert in Istanbul in may. People came from 70 countries to see him perform for nearly three hours. He is a beast on stage but humble, respectful, patriotic, loving, intellectual and very much the humanitarian. That’s also why we love him.

This was from a singing competition for professional singers, only, in China 2017. Dimash was invited there as a wild card and was the youngest ever to take part in it. The people back stage they show are his competitors. The audience are the judges. This performance was the first one this season and how Dimash was introduced to the people of China - and the rest of the world. Before this, he had been famous in his own country, Kazakhstan and in Russia. He has an extended education in music he started studying at five years old. And still practices three hours almost every day with his vocal coach. He takes good care of himself physically, because as he says, singing like this takes a lot of strength and stamina. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country (and he still does). And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. Funny you'd mention the Power Rangers. He made a video singing the theme song to the movie. This is actually the classiest music competition I've seen on TV. The people in the lit rooms behind stage are his competitors, so you get to see their awe at hearing him for the first time. All the competitors are professional singers invited to compete for 14 episodes. There were no awkward auditions, no insulting judgments. The people in the audience are the judges. They vote by ballot without making any comments. Dimash was the youngest competitor they had, plus being from Kazakhstan, the only foreigner in the mix. You should be fans of this show. There's no backbiting. You are right. He can sing everything, so if this wasn't your favorite genre, watch five more. He was only 21 in this clip. Now he's 30 and his baritone/bass notes are much richer. He did study both in classical and contemporary music.

This is a Chinese singing competition for professional Chinese singers. Dimash was the youngest (only 22 years old) and also the first foreign participant to finish as number. lol Dimash actually does the soundtrack for the movie “Go, Go, Power Rangers.” But Dimash’s range in other songs goes higher and much, much lower! Dimash was 22 years old in this contest, he is now 30, and has sung from Diva Dance style, to a duet with Placido Domingo, to Jane’s Bond Movie like songs, down to pop, and rock, gospel mixed jazzy blues in his Vampire themed “When I’ve Got You,” music video. Also, yes he does songs that remind me of classic style of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin. One is, “Love is Like a Dream.” But with Dimash you most always get surprises included.😊

He sang for 3+ hours with a few very short breaks. When you are at one of his events, you join a family of,conservatively 40-50 countries! It was days before our feet hit the ground, and I somehow was intrinsically changed! Without hyperbole I believe that he was sent to us to spread hope and love to a world that is sending out an SOS to someone “out there”

Ok, u have two groups of people. The audience who are the judges of this singing competition, and the others were well established proffessional singers, taking part in a singing competition. Di ash was invited to take part, because he had won THE most prestigeous singing competition that was part of his area- Kazakhstan, his home land, Russia Belarus plus others I dont know - Dimash was the outsider who would not b allowed to win. ( they cha fed that rule the following year). BUT Dimash won their hearts - so humble but as u say sooo talented. And yes pitch perfect from 3years old. He holds master degree in composition n other degrees in various genres. He was invited to Kazakhstan's opera house. He declined because he wanted to b free to explore all music possibilities. Plays 7 instruments etc etc. Held in high esteem across the world now. Performed his own concerts around the world including New York. But he also is a giving fun loving person and sees himself no different go others. Just blessed to have the parents and family he has a d his gift. His passion is to support the world to become more peaceful.. well worth exploring g his work. Here he was 21 now 30 years old. If u watch more of his work, u will never really know u'll expect.
