I heard Lional loved his cover, but the song is copyrighted and Lionel’s company confronted Hunan TV for broadcasting it without permission. To perform “Hello” you need to get permission and pay for the right to perform it.
Wonderful. What a beautiful cover. He even makes the covers he sings his own and brings his own elements to the song that you would never expect. He is so awesome. I grew up with Hello by Lionel Richie. I loved this song. But to be honest, I like Dimash’s version much better. The melismas give me goosebumps without end. At the end he says “I love you” in Mandarin and then in Kazakh. This performance took place in 2018 in the same competition where he appeared in 2017. In 2018 he was a guest. The people in the background were singers and the audience (they are the jury-members). The flute is called Sygyzgy and is mainly played in the Kyrgyz and Kazakh regions. According to Wikepedia it is traditionally played by shepherd horse herders. A wonderful sound. Love from Germany👋❤️
The first time I saw this performance, when he held onto that long belt while the other contestants sat with their mouths hanging open, then swooped down toward the stage, I was afraid he was passing out. It took me many watching before I got used to it.

Please react to another song from The Singer competition in 2017. Daybreak. It’s a very important song for us Dears. I highly recommend you watching the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel first and then the one from his Bastau concert. It was the 8th performance of this competition. I don’t think there are copyright issues, because the videos on this channel are already edited and there are English subtitles. I think you will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen The Singer version before. But if you know the background, the force with which the song hits you has a completely different dimension. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. So please react to The Singer version first🙏🙏🙏. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. After the performance he lost his voice again. It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it. The Bastau version (no sore throat) of Daybreak is phenomenal and mind-blowing. So emotional and heartbreaking. Maybe you can do both together. Many reactors do and so you can see the difference between this two performances. In both versions I always cry my eyes out. I don’t know why I have to cry more. Because of the story or the fact, that he was in such pain and performed anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint the audience. Both version were in the same year 2017. If you want to see/hear a beautiful love song, go to one of his concerts for If I Never Breathe Again, one of the best love songs I have heard. Also, any of his concerts will amaze you, he is sooo good. You could start with Bastau in 2017, after he did The Singer competition. I hope u continue with Dimash, you will never be disappointed.
Before that Dimash sing this song with his exceptional and touching version i don't like this song at all because sung by Lionel Richie for me is very boring and annoying..And is better i don't write what i think about the mv of this song because in my opinion is very absurd with a wrong and bad message,basically a mature professor that stalks a young girl student..I'm absolutely sure that Dimash for this song could make an excellent mv..However in my opinion this version of Dimash is better and by a lot of all the covers of this song and also of the original song..Dimash like for the other songs resurrected and greatly improved this song that even in the dreams of Lionel Richie have been so beautiful..Dimash is a phenomenal genius..The Boss King Angel Dimash Forever
