Dimash was raised in a family of musicians and singers. He was learning the Dombra before he could walk! And commenced formal voice training aged 5. He was winning piano competitions aged 6. He speaks 3-4 languages and has learned to sing in 16 { and counting!} phonetically. Dimash has studied all forms of vocalisation; classical, traditional and contemporary. He was offered a prestigious place with his National Opera Co. but declined this in order to continue to explore creatively across ALL Genres! Enjoy.
There is just no one on Earth that has the talent Dimash has. Musically, there's Nothing he can't do. He is so humble and kind. His family life is extremely important to him. When not on tour or working or studying in other places, Dimash still lives at home with his parents and grandparents and siblings, all under one roof. their culture of having the grandparents raise the children and impart their culture on them while the parents work has a big influence and has turned out a fantastic family. His parents are the greatest and Dimash's love of his grandmother, especially the one that noticed that he had perfect pitch and took him to enter him into vocal lessons at the age of 5 years old has meant so much to Dimash. ❗2 Stringed instrument the Dombra. Traditional instrument of the nomads of the Kazakhstan steppe, in addition to Quobyz (koe bish) played with a bow. Strings made of gut and horsehair.
Dimash plays the Kazakh instrument the dombra. It looks like a two stringed guitar/mandolin shape. Kazakh national instrument. Watch Dimash play with the National Dombra Orchestra at his first solo concert in 2017 called Bastau. The video is on his channel Adai + Daididau (he plays Adai and sings Daididau). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ra4v19Rp6cQ.html Daididau is an old traditional Kazakh song. A letter written by the Kazakh poet Magzhan Zhumabayev around 1936 or so to his wife. He was imprisioned by the Russians for subversive writings (he promoted Kazakh freedom) and the guards lied about his wife leaving him to hurt him. She had not left him and was working tirelessly to free him. She eventually did get him released but he was again put in prison and executed in1938. The song is a symbol of the many years of struggle of the Kazakh people for the freedom of their country and Dimash sings it with all of his Kazakh soul.
Hopefully you will do his Diva Dance performance soon. Diva Dance Bastau is the best or one of the best versions. Another is his duet with a Chinese male traditional opera singer called Drunken Concubine /Diva Dance.
